Frankly, I think it is. Most of the good players from BF2 are enlisted veterans in 2142. I could still play BF2, but it just wouldn't be the same as it was, 2142 is a lot more fun. And if the rumors of the BF2 stats server going down soon are true, the game will quickly fade.
Stat servers wont go down, thats how EA makes a killer of a profit.

I probably wont be playing bf2 again because it stopped working for some reason. Not much point trying to work it out when I can just be playing 2142 (which is just as much fun).
