everyone keeps making fun me for having bad camera skills.

the problem is that i have a 7.1 Olympus Digital (Camedia?) and you have to hold it ABSOLUTLY still for a half decent picture, its that the shutter takes forever to close+focus. And it takes about 2 seconds. I want it to go instantly so it doesnt look like i severly motion blurred it?

ive been playing around with the settings trying to fix it but i cant find anything.

help?

That is called a digicam. They are like that. There are no setting that can magically make it focus faster.*

Modern DSLR (digital single lens reflex) cameras have shutter lag, the time between pressing the button and taking the picture, in the time frame of 10's of milliseconds.

Auto focus speed all comes down to the camera processor and the lens itself. A very good (read expensive) lens can have AF speeds in, again, the 10's of milliseconds.

But hey, for that setup you would have to pay $3,000-$5,000.

*Sorry if it seems like I am taking the piss out of your camera. It's just that I own a DSLR...

If you are interested in photography you could probably get a better digicam. They are made quite well now days by the likes of Canon. Essentially, and unfortunately, with photography, you get what you pay for.
