crashing game

my machine is up to spec - i updated BF2142 - i updated PB

game runs sweet, fully populated server lists, join a game and get very little lag, 5 - 10 Min's into game, game crashes and gives me no error message!

thoughts?

Hi, what i would do personly if it just kept crashing, is to install the software youre useing again and install the game and other hardware. This does work for me but thats only on my PC. See if this works but be warned that it takes a few hours to get it back the way it was.

Something could be overheating. It could be the power supply. It could be the RAM. It could be lots of stuff. Does it only happen in 2142 or does it happen in any other games?

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it

Try turning off VOIP and/or EAX.

Its your VOIP, turn it off, i had the same problem.

yeah turned voip off, i have other games installed which aren't having a problem ( BF2 JOPS quake4 etc) Ive tried different versions of directX as i heard that could help, downloaded new drivers for GPU, used "end it all" to make sure everything else was off, updated PB

I'm stuck

Having the same problem. Tried disabling VOIP, EAX, Dropped back to software sound, disabled AA, etc... Sometimes it lets me play for a few minutes, sometimes it crashes before the game even finishes loading to the menus, sometimes it crashes while navigating the menus. Annoying. If you could list some of the stuff you did it might be helpful for others.

i have a problem my comp keeps cutting out in 2142 no errors pop up but it just goes back to main windows screen
my comp has 2GB of ram 512mb (Nvidia) graphics card and a intel pentium 4 (3.0ghz) and 250GB of space on hard drive

More than one firewall running? Try turning your firewall off, or disable it.

Only firewall I have running on the comp is the XP firewall. Might try killing that in a bit. I'll let ya know.

Try to lower your sound acceleration in directx. Solved my crashing problem. Goto START, then RUN, Then type dxdiag. Goto sound tab and use the slider to lower the acceleration of sound. I had to lower the acceleration to basic to fix mine. See if that helps.

thanx guys for helping but i took the game back and got my money back i will be getting 2142 again wen the expansion comes out hopefully sumtime soon
