Have you guys ever noticed that when you ram the car into a building or a tree, it takes a few seconds to get the car going in reverse. I was thinking about this today and realized that it is completely wrong.

When you smash into something, the momentum of the car should be lost (car should crush of course, but no damage models here). Thus, hitting reverse should mean you instantly start moving back. However, it seems that the game still has that momentum in there, so as you hit reverse it feels like the car doesn't do crap. It's the same if you try to go reverse from full forward speed, as if you hit a wall (which animation shows you stop) and try to go back.

Anyway, my point? Bugs the hell out of me since you can touch a tree, lose all speed, yet not be able to start moving quickly enough again before that troop snipes you or something.

Anyone know if it's a bug, or if it's just the way they really coded the game?
