Your combat : team point ratio?

G'day...

I reckon it would be interesting to see who are the real team players, holding back and thinking of team things rather than killing and who are the more combat based players, running into battle all guns blazing.

To work this out, divide your combat score by your team score.

So for me its:

80,524 / 16,679 = 4.82. So for every 5 combat points I get, I get 1 team point.

What about you?

people like you KILL this game, by the way. you'll never have any idea how much fun it can be to actually work WITH your team, instead of against them.

er,. shouldn't there be negative values for the ratio? I'mpretty sure I have more teampoints that combnat points.

yep, ratio is 256:659 which works out at 0.38846737481031866464339908952959 or 0.39 for those who don't like large decimals. in other words, for each teampoint, i have 0.39 combat points.

What can I say, im not a karkand medic or ammo bag spamming whore I play mostly for flags and wont go out of my way to revive someone.

IMO, capping and defending flags and taking out enemy armour for all your other medic'ing teammates has far more relevance to teamwork and winning the round than reviving 30people per round. You just get less points for it, but I pride my flag caps...on average 3.45 per round.

Good topic - I wish EA/DICE et al would have put more thought into calculating teamwork. EAs model focusses on individuals performance in relation to support tasks accomplished and not the teams performance as a result of player contributions. <-- (I am sure I could explain that better but no time now) It would be like playing baseball and not counting wins and losses only player stats.

You need to add commander points that is 'part 2' of team points Team + Commander / Combat . Unless as commander you spend all your time on 16 player servers you are nearly always back at the main and not cappin' runnin' and gunnin'. Definitively helping the team anyway you can.

I would also try to find how to deduct % Lone Wolf hours. If there was a way to extract Cdr/SL/SM/LW wins/losses from player's global W/L that could be factored as well.*

-using your formula I am about 5:1 also
-adding other teamwork factors my case is .78/4% team+cmd/LW % ratio

* I don't know if it is universally true but in July '06 I studied game results from our server and found 73% of teams winning games had the fewest Lone Wolves! 3:1 is telling. On some days it was as high as 85%.

@OpsChief, consider this. When a team is losing, players leave, and so some get switched from the winning side to the losing side. The players who get switched are the Lonewolves, so losing sides can look lop-sided at the end. I used to play lonewolf, and this killed my W/L ratio, becuase the better I played, the more likely my side would win, therefore the more likely I would be switched to the losing side.
