i heard somewhere that motherboards made in the last 3 months support or will support the new cards. is this true?

So long as your motherboard is PCI-e 16x it is DX10 compatable.

A little clarification here....

The MOTHERBOARD is not the one that's "made" to be DX10. It's the graphics card. As someone posted earlier, ANY baord that supports PCIe 16x will be able to take a DX10 card when this is available to the public. So to answer the original question:
No, boards purchased in the last three months do NOT support DX10. You CAN however put a DX10 card in any board, NO MATTER THE AGE, as long as that board has PCIe 16x.
