i installed the game patched it ran fine. i wasn't getting my unlocks so i restarted my computer. now every time i try to start the game its just goes to a black screen. but when i run the demo the demo runs perfectly fine. battlefield 2 also ran fine nothing was the matter with it

cpu: 3.6ghz
1 gb ram
radeon x300 128 mb

I think you should have uninstalled the demo before installing the game.

Try uninstalling it and see if it helps.
If not, reinstall BF2142 (with the demo still uninstalled) and see if that helps.
If not, I'm out of ideas for now.

before you reinstall 2142, try to go to My Documents and delete the Battlefield 2142 folder. The folder will be automatically recreated once you get in the game, so don't worry.
