When I first decided to take on this project, I did so with the notion that armor reduced damage by 30%. After doing the math I tested out each weapon. I came to find that 30% wasnt consistant with all the weapons. I did some web searching and the only thing I could find about armor was a guess that it reduced damage by 33%. I did some more math and found that 33% was also not consistant with all the weapons. Therefore, to say the least, I still dont know the exact percentage that armor reduces damage by, but I do know its more than 33% and less than 40%. In other words, 33.5% remains consistant with testing as does 40%, but I know that 40% is too much since the m16 nearly does full leathal damage after 5 shots. What does this mean to you? Nothing really. Whether armor reduces damage by 33.5% or 40% doesnt change the fact that either way, its takes 6 shots when using the m16 to do leathal damage to an armored foe who has full health. In any case, some of you have truelly wondered what the effects of body armor are and I hope that the following chart clears things up for you.
Note* The weapon damage statistics are courtesy of ubar. All pistols do the same amount of damage, whether they have a silencer or not (I do know that a pistol is not a submachine gun...). The shotgun stats assume that you hit your target with nearly all the buckshot. Special thank to Saru for helping with testing.
