Alright. I finally figured it out. I'd feel like a noob if the problem wasn't so damned screwy. A re-reinstallation fixed the CD key thing, only for STEAM to tell me that I didn't have to enter the key again. Could've let me know before, or just not asked for it.
When DMoM&M installs, there are three versions of the game:
- Offline single player.
- Multiplayer (two icons are listed, but both lead to STEAM).
- STEAM single-player. I have no f*ckin' clue what this is for, but I'm going to assume that there may be a coop mode in the future. I don't know yet, since the damned thing's still at 19%.
The multiplayer aspect is ready pretty much instantly, with only a bit of required downloading. The STEAM single-player is downloaded from scratch. Expect a week, if you're on slow 60kps DSL like I am. Problem solved. I can now go kick some orcs to blow off the steam built up f*ckin' around with this game.
Usually, I'm a RTFM type, but there was all of a half-a-page on the installation process.
