You should get a DEll DUDE!!! lol
(1) Forget the computer and build a time machine.
(2) Go a few decades into the future and buy a crappy computer; by that time crappy computers then will be incredibly advanced by today's standards.
(3) Return to the present and gloat your ass off.
Serious note: Most of the system specs posted are really good; so good I have wet dreams about them

*SigH* he is not buying a computer for real okay people, understand this, so stop posting links to where the best deals are (for that intention)
and No, no game uses 8GB of memory, maybe lets say you'll be using alot of different programs, downloading music, playing music, playing a game, running some photoshop program, either way 4gigs would be all jittery and shit, 8gigs ensures smoothness, like a babies bottom <directed at the people quoting my rig
as for waiting for DX10 and the G80 and Vista go for it, but when is your project due, next week?
QC is not really anything big atm, for a review, reviewers weren't really impressed with performances compared to C2D

you guys looked up the best processor and GPU's
but how about the superfast storage: i dont know the name anymore, but there is an pci-card where you put up to 16gb ram on. you can use the ram on the card as superfast storage. The data on the ram doesn't get lost when you shut down your computer, there is an accu/batery on it.

why not just look at all the other "build me a pc" forums
Seriously, G5 is the way to go. You'll be drooling until you die from lack of liquid. 16GB RAM, Dual xeons = EXPENSIVE BUT NICE!
iRam it's called, made by gigabyte. That thing is fucking fast.']['error wrote:

2gig? get with the times
No big deal. It something people can afford, and I'm not so nerdy like you guys and know absolutely everything about computers. I'm just picking and choosing stuff, calm down.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
Revolution fails as a gaming mouse. You fail at making suggestions. 500GB hd fails, get 150X2 raptors in raid 0 and 16GB of iRam storage. 850watt psu.ryan_14 wrote:

-QX6700 (ladies and gentlemen, quad core has arrived)
-Asus P5B Deluxe
-8800GTX (or get 2 for SLI)
-(2x) 750GB Seagate 7200.10 (1.5TB of storage!)
-(2x) 74 GB Raptors (RAID 0)
-PC Power & Cooling 1Kw PSU
-You will need to find a huge full tower case, Lian Li is good, Cooler Master Stacker is good, find one that suits your needs...but it needs to be huge!!
-(2x) Dell 3007WFP 30" monitors!
-Nice freakin speakers
If you actually can afford all this ($7000+) PM me and I will give you some more detailed advice on the top of the line parts we see today.
You said best possible... I gave you the best widely availible parts possible.
i would get 4gigz ocz.. not sure what speed.. isnt it 800 mhz?
The 150GB Raptors are only fractions of a second faster than the 74GB Raptors. Plus do your OS and games really take up more then 70GB?
I forgot about the memory....4GB of Corsair or Crucial DDR2-800 or higher. Even though this is a waste right now with XP, but Vista will make more use of it.
Yeah and get an X-Fi sound card too...
Also change that motherboard to a board with the 680i chipset so you can do SLI and then get 2 8800GTXs when they come out.

Raptors wouldn't be best possible. SCSI is still quicker and solid state storage quicker still - the rest looks niiiice!younggun wrote:
