Squad Leader Beacon Spawn?

The qualifications for Expert Squad Leader are 600 squad experience points and 30 "Squad Leader Beacon Spawns" IAR. Anyone know what a SLBS is?

The reason I ask is that I've played SL a lot and often with full 6 man squads. As a result, we are ALWAYS podding in on a beacon. During the course of long maps, my squad just HAS to use the beacon at least 30 times, yet I never get the reward. Yes.... I do have the 600 points.

A similar thing happened when I tried to get Vet Squad Leader. I played many rounds with a full squad and could still not get it. It wasn't until I played with a squad of THREE that I got it. During that round, I set a beacon up near the South non-cap on Belgrade. I kept podding in MYSELF and charging the enemy non-cap spawn points with APMs, trying to get Vet explosives. I got two or three kills and died each time. I wasn't awarded Vet Squad Leader until just after one of my own pod drops.

This leads me to believe that either the badge is glitched or the SQUAD LEADER NEEDS TO BEACON SPAWN 30 TIMES IAR.

I currently own a Vet Squad Leader Badge.
However, contrary to your guess above, I actually have gotten the badge without even having to spawn on the beacon myself (I was alive while my poor squadmates died 20 times and spawned on the beacon 20 times). So I do not think it is required for you to spawn on the beacon to count it towards the badge.

I think its just when squad members spawn on it.

My friend just got Expert Squad Leader badge and he was in the enemy titan when he got it.

= He didn't spawn on the beacon obviously. So that means you get it when your squad spawns on it.

I'm having the same trouble as you man. I've counted beacon spawns and had 38 in a round (plus I'm sure i missed a few while dead). I have over 1000 SL success points, and still can't get it.

Think the requirements for the badge are 30 Spawns on the same becon. So you need to have your squad and yourself spawn on one becon within the round. Dont think it works if your becon gets destroyed and then you place a new becon. I figured the best chance of getting this badge would be to place it on an enemy titan because your squad is going to dye more times and they will always spawn on the becon.

Unfortunately I haven't unlocked the beacon, since I always get enough field upgrades to unlock everything I just use one of those. And there's no squad-play in Titan, so its bloody hard to get even one field upgrade.

ur right about titan mode. what i always do is just be the SL in titan mode and give orders n stuff and then everyone starts making squads once they see how well we are doing.

Yeah I dont have the becon either because I know i can always unlock it with the field upgrade. So what i did was play on a mixed server. so the round before, con conquest mode, my squad got loads of unlocks, then on titan mode i got the badge. Although i kept shouting messages to my squad and tell them to spawn on the becon and help me attack the titan. three of my six members were not following my orders, so i kicked them out the squad and got two more guys in who helped on the titan.

Whenever I play on mixed servers I get only conquest (not normally a problem). When I play on unmarked conquest ones, they change to Titan...

some servers are wierd because the server descirption says that it is playing 1 round per map but ends up playing about 4/5/6 rounds per map.

Got it! Found a great squad on Berlin. Got 47 squad leader success points, and all field upgrades (and that was all infantry, no APC whorage). Added to my score of 30 and 1000 from the badge - thats a lot of points.

It does seem to be 30 spawns on One Beacon, so you need to defend your beacon or hide it well.

Cool. The ONE beacon requirement seems to be the consensus opinion of the way to go. I'll have to try it out.

Come to think of it, I do move the beacon a lot during gameplay to help support active squad movement and capping of flags. I'm going to try to deploy it only for a DEFENSIVE strategy next time to hold a flag throughout the map.

I don't know about moving it - technically you're still using one beacon. I didn't move mine though.

I got my veteran by picking it up and moving it around, so I think it is the required amount on one unique beacon. If your beacon is found out and they are camping it, then try to kill the bastards and pick it up and move it elsewhere to continue the spawning at a safer location.
