Sorry, Battlefield 2142 stats, signatures, etc are not available.

EA and/or Dice has decided to stay undecided if they will allow any 3rd party sites (like this one) to have access to a feed. If, at some point, they decide to allow us access, it will be several weeks afterwards to get it setup. In addition, if we try to use the "pirated" feed (the same feed the game client uses), we have been threatened to loose any hope of receiving an official feed, as well as getting our account "disabled". This probably means an IP block (which might mess up our ability to get the BF2 feed) and/or our 2142 accounts banned, or those of which we pull stats for.

This choice has put web sites, you (the customers), and of course EA themselves in a no-win situation by failing to support 3rd party sites, but in the end, it is their game and we have to play by their rules, agree with them or not.

I do not have any public emails in which I can give you in order to file a complaint/request. The best I can suggest is to use the standard support channels. If you are renting a ranked server (either BF2 or 2142), you can ask that your hosting provider contacts EA on your behalf, as they will have contacts at EA. You can also sign a petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/bfstats/petition.html.

I thank you for your support and hope that things end up working out before its too late for the game.

As cool as BF2S, Battlefield 2 Stat Retriever, and all the other stat retrieval sites and utilities are, I have to say that I cannot blame DICE/EA one bit for not wanting third-party stat retrieval. Precious CPU and bandwidth is just not expendable enough to let the public access it for trivial things like signatures and phallometric contests.
I mean, is showing off your game stats to the world really that necessary? After seeing about five oversized BF2s sigs in various forums, I've stopped reading them for good and I just skip over to the next post.

And in some ways, they're a double-edged sword. You can appear experienced in the game, with all your unlocks and achievements, but you also look like a hermit that never bathes because you have so many hours logged in the game. People will wonder, "Don't you have a job, kids, or at least school to deal with?"
Or, "Wow, don't you actually play the game?"

I went into quite the ramble there, but eh, I kinda think you shouldn't worry so much about the stat thing, honestly. Play and enjoy the game.

Sadly, tons of people only play for that reason, and EA knows it.  That's why the stats system exists in the first place, and they bank on putting out the games with the best stats systems.  If it's not necessary to show the stats off, why keep them in the first place?  If EA didn't log stats, teamwork would be way better, but people would stop playing, in my opinion.

Hmmmm, nah. I want to be able to trash talk people with a KD of 0.1.

Part of the stat thing for BF2 was about recruitment/squadding - if there was someone on the server that was going well, I'd take a look at how they play (do they have lots of teamwork points, fair KD, time as squad leader/commander, time as infantry), then try and join their squad at a later date.

Given the general randomness and lack of solid teamwork in 2142 so far (5 different servers yesterday and 4 people in total who use VoIP? wtf?) - I'd like to be able to get a better feel for who is a team player from their numbers, THEN try and find them on server/add them to buddy lists.

Now those are definitely some valid points you've made... I know that if I were trying to assess a potential recruit for a clan, their stats would be a fairly good indicator of how good of a [team] player they are.

And yeah, I admit that the unlocks and awards system is a hugely successful feature in the latest Battlefield games, but I'm really limiting my argument towards the usage of web-based stat sigs and such. You can still see your friends' stats using the BFHQ.

But! Maybe EA can instead put up a snapshot of the entire stats database on an off-site location. That means that all the stat sites can grab the data from that. It won't stress the time-critical stat servers, and the only expense is that the information is only as up to date as the snapshots. It'd do what people need these days, and provided that the snapshots aren't too infrequent, the lack of live updates shouldn't be an issue. Just wait a few hours, or a day.

EDIT: I negelected to mention that my favourite feature in any of these stat sites and the stat retrievers is the ease of finding requirements for the next award. Definitely intuitive.

a search found this to be the most recent topic on the subject, and quite a mature one as well, so i wanted to post this here.

Is there any update on the Official EA page going live again.

and / or

is there any update on EA releasing the feed to 3rd parties.

P.S, i/we use the stats pages to mainly spot awards that our hourly global times now make us eligible for, so we can drop in a few rounds and have a go for them.  I am not likely to get most of the badges etc in a normal game, and need to play a round basically whoring whatever style of play is needed, its mild padding, but it breaks up the game a bit, then back to enjoying it as it should relay be played.

Also passes the time at work so i can get on with gaming when at home.

hmm i have gotten the fealing that "all" the stats that are included in the BFHQ is pretty much what i want to see.
though one thing really disturb me when you look at your weaponstats.. i really don“t see the point why i should see how many times i have been killed by a certain weapon i want to know how many times i have died with that weopon in my hands.
