I could swear I saw at least 2 threads with this exact topic in the last couple months.  I remember saying I'm an m16/ak101 fan when medic, m24 when usmc sniper, prk when mec support..the rest are unlocks.  scar-l is great, but i do just fine with m4.

i use any weapon according to the situation. use whatever u kill best with. for example, i just had a round on jalacarbomberlala, where i found a sweet spot as a med, and racked up 12 kills with the l85 using one mag, single shot. some people hate it, i used to, now i love it. i choose the p90 because i suck with shotguns, and i prefer the g36e/m16 over the ak101, because i like reliable accuracy. Everyone plays different, so diff sets of weapons (unlock and stock) suit different people

i think... they are a bit less skillful...
btw if you want you can use them, they are yours!
So, the medics AK-47 or 101 is harder to use and "pwn" with than an L85A1?
Is the Scar-L really better than an M4 or an AK-74U?

No, they are not. It all depends on the person who is using the weapon.
No one weapon (in the same class) is better than another - they all have advantages, and all have disadvantages. G3 = high power, but low clip size and bad(ish) recoil. M16 = good accuracy, less power.

I use any weapon in the game I want to, its there to be used, so why not use it?
If its coded into the game, then they are fair (a few patches later...).
They were put there for a reason. People can use them if they want to, thats what theyre there for. If you dont use them, then fine. But why does using an unlock make you a "noob"? Its just a different weapon ffs. Its like saying "the MEC get an advantage with the AK over the M16 so being MEC is "noobish"". There is no difference at all.
Just because you dont like unlocks, it doesnt mean that you should discriminate against the players who use unlocks. Its totally retarded, an undying arguement and will last as long as BF2 does. Dont like it? Well, then you have serious problems.

Thats my opinion

Why is an unlock noobish? Most unlocks are just better guns. And i dont care how noobish i look ill use my unlocks for most kits.

I don't see too much of an advantage with or without them, different guns are best in different situations.  M95 on wake is perfectly acceptable, as is the g3 on sharqi.  If the gun is suited for a certain setup ie. long range, why not use it on some larger maps, rather than use a gun wich is suited for QcQ

Its not noobish. In some peoples minds it is. Thats because their e-peen grows harder whenever they think they can claim 1337-ness on some crap on teh internats.

i am just joking about what i said before
i do use unlocks alot, but for mec not really, unlocks are people who have crappy graphics that need to g36e to get accurate as people who spray with ak101 and really i get same accuracy as someone spray in comparison when fire semiauto zoomed in
but i tried on really good gPU and i pwned hardcore with everything

Apparently, it makes you a "noob."
Yes, in the same way that killing some guys also makes you automatically a "n00b", "lucky" or a "hacker"

Geez people, can we put this stupid idea to rest FFS?! Unlocks are supplied by the game, they're there to be used if you want them. If you don't want to because you like a stock gun more, then use the stock gun and leave other players to their choices.

Helll yes.  I use the P90 whenever I get the chance.
Any gun that replaces the AK's is a step up.  The L85 was my gun of choice when I played on teams that required medics.  Its accuracy and range is tough to beat.  Single shot, crouched next to a storefront, taking out a silly sniper with a well placed round to the face... its the only way to go.

I use the M24 whenever I get the chance, I like how it draws faster.  The L96a1 when I feel like actually going into hiding, and waiting.

The Mk3 and the MP7 are strange.  The Benelli is an awesome shotgun, the Saiga is useful when surprising multiple people.  The Mk3 is useful when accuracy is not a concern, and hitting everything but the enemy is.  The MP7 is nice at times because you can run into people with it, and its an awesome gun to surprise people with.  At range, its as annoying as a pistol.

I rarely play support, because there is rarely ever a squad that I am on that plays like a squad.  And if there is, im a medic.  So resupplying people is neither here nor there.  Divers love the RPK and MG36 though.  The PKM is awesome if youre waiting, prone on the floor or somewhere.  Its good for nailing drivers with to.

For Spec Ops, sometimes the AK101 does a lot of damage.  The M4 is pretty accurate at range, but I like the SCAR-L.  Its sound is pretty cool, and its damage is pretty solid.  At range, its as accurate if not more accurate than the M4, and its as damaging as an AK up close.  The G36c is just... alright.  Its not as good as the SAS G36 though.  That gun is awesome.

In short, If im an engineer I wont change guns.  If I am an AT, I will change to the P90.  If im assault, the G3 or F2000 is pretty key.  When medic, L85 always.  When support, something must be wrong.  For Spec-ops, SCAR-L or stock.

The unlocks are definetly a step up.  Especially to the people who like to play the game, and not just rack up points.

I only use them if my selected kit has run out of ammo and have to swap kits; the frustration from picking a MEC medic/assault kit up to find a G36E/F2000 makes me swap to pistol. and then knife. and then smoke grenades - should my knife miraculously run out of ammo.

Some unlocks are way overpowered (read: PKM, G36E and F2000), thus making them "noobish" to use.  Personaly I never use unlocks, mostly because I play in a clan and can't use unlocks in clanmatches.
But I can catch myself in using sniper unlocks, but thats realy no problem, since i won't use sniper in a match.

This guy is right

A good player kill other players with the most efficient weapons. Noobish or not, some unlocks are better than stock weapons so choosing them = knowing which guns are better and choosing the right equipment..

btw I play mostly Support and medic on small maps and Spec ops on big ones.

Support : pkm ftw
Medic : G36e, or ak-101. both are good.
Spec ops : G36C

SCAR-L>G36C>AK-74u  I've recently learned of the SCAR-L's accuracy (even tho I got a negative ratio with the Specops lol

M95>L96A1 SVD PIECE OF SHIT..lol (I choose M95 over the LEET96A1 because it can shoot pilots out of their seat:D)

AK-101>F2000>G3 (only thing that ties down the G3 is its ROF {should be slower} and its 20round mag)

RPK>PKM>MG36

SK-12>MK3A1>MP7 (only stole the MP7 off a cpl corpes a(u guessed it)...cpl times)

AK-101>G36E>L85A1

DAO-12>PP-19>cant say P90 cuz Ive only killed people with it about 5 times lol (which took the whole 50rounds:D)
G3 is a brilliant weapon if you know how to use it, only matched by the PKM in terms of raw power.

A good player can pwn with or without unlocks. I personally love the ak47 but it all depends on what team or situation im in.

When I was in a clan I wasn't using unlocks at all. But know I'm not sure.. I think I don't care anymore.. Besides I play all expansion and booster packs too so hard to think sometimes what is and what is not an unlock.
But my favourites are:
Sniper - SVD
Assault - AK
Medic - AK
