Between about £30 and £200. Go for something around the £50-60 mark. The Asus A8N-SLI SE is nice. GPU, how about a 7600GT about £100.

Running 1.5GB of RAM is doing you no favours at all. You want your RAM to be running in dual channel mode, because it goes twice as fast (in theory, not in practice - but it is much better). To run in dual channel you need identical matched DIMMs. If you could post the details of the 1.5GB of RAM you are using that would be useful.

You should be able to get something pretty decent for about £300-400.

Ok, first off. Yes Video Card, Second, Keep your AGP mobo. PCI-E video cards are still being modified to get optimal performance. On your NEXT compy get a PCI-E, but since your budget is low, a new Pci Mobo would be expensive + better ram to go alon.g. (what is your ram?)

Don't get an 8800 - unless you want to be selling your house to pay for it. £600 for a graphics card, it's madness, madness I say.....

(or £350-400 for low end versions)

Knowing your budget would make this much easier.....

My ram... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/ … dules.html

top item on that page i belive, also 512 ram that came with comp. So stick with agp? ok, can i get that dual channel thing on agp?

*Edit*

If i got a decent Agp card, would that enable me to run on medium with no lag? or would i be better getting 2 gig ram?

You'll be fine with an AGP card. But not for long. 2GB of RAM would help a lot. Get another stick of identical RAM. Get rid of the other 512MB and get an AGP card. Maybe a 7600GT. Don't go for anything higher than that, because the AGP doesn't keep pace with GPU which is a waste. Would come to about £200 and would let you play BF2 very nicely (not perfectly, but you'll notice a VAST improvement).

big budget= mobo to pci-e and accompanying ram and vid card
but with that, you're basically building a new comp.

Smaller budget= vid card and ram are your best bets to keep things reasonable.
