I play with 1280 x 768 at 60hz. My problem is that one day when I logged on the image didn't stretch to the edge of the screen like it used to. I now have a black bar on the right hand side of my screen. This is happening with the all of my games now. I've tried everything I could think of to fix it, but nothing works.

Anyone know what's wrong?

Are you using an LCD? I hope so at that frequency. If the LCD has an autoi image adjust, try using that. If not, you'll have to do it manually using the monitor settings.

If I adjust the image size using the screen controls, then I'd be all screwed up when I leave the game.

Are you playing the game in a different resolution to your desktop? If so, it shouldn't affect the screen position of your desktop. Each resolution has separate position information.

It doesn't explain why it changed by itself one day, but I'll try what you said.

Computers and their peripherals are fickle creatures at the best of times. It may have been an ingame video setting you changed. Some small setting in windows, a power surge, a plane flew over your house, the hardware setting fairies. Hopefully you'll get it worked out.

same thing happened to me once. for no reason just like you. my monitor had an auto position button, i pressed it, and it resituated itself. it usually does it on its own when the bf games start up, but for some reason it didn't that time. when i went back to desktop, it repositioned itself again.

yeah it worked. I didn't know everything had it's own settings like that.
