ok so i wanted to go back down to 1.03 and have some fun again playing wake island but when i installed it got to the end and an alert came up saying patching failed, so i first uninstalled and patched up again and the same thing, so i went to a different site and downloaded it thinks maybe the file was corrupt from the last site and still the SAME THING, has anyone else had this problem?
Backdating a patch is tricky, your best bet is to either use a drive partition, or seperate drive, install a fresh copy of the game, then apply the full version of the 1.03 patch, with no expansions.
However, in doing this, it is highly unlikely that you will find any servers hosting games with such an old version. All ranked BF2 Servers are on 1.4, and 99% of all client servers are also on 1.4.

I'm sure there will be some servers running it in all stages of patching, 1.12 and 1.4 being the most popular. However I'm sure there will be very few ranked servers left on anything but 1.4 in the near future. I am pretty sure I remember seeing on EA site that the only way to earn global points shortly after patch 1.4 would be to patch ALL ranked servers to that level.
Can't remember exactly where I saw that, but shouldn't be too hard to locate.
