I don't get much down time for myself being a family man with my own businessand all, but when I do...I cut loose with some quality BF2.  My chance to "get away" from it all for a little while.  So I says to myself "Self...you do a decent amount of traveling for work, why not bring some of that BF2 fun on the road with yous." So I went ahead and bought myself the Alienware Aurora M9700 notebook "laptop", whatever.  I figured why not do it up right while your at it, and so I told to sales dude to max it out for me with best that, that machine can handle....he even threw in a free mouse pad and t-shirt to boot. Can't beat that.  I have read some but not very many negative reviews about alienware, but overall the pros have out weighed the cons by far.  So all in all I guess this is my little shout it off tho mountain top that I got a kick ass gaming laptop...notebook, whatever.  Those of you who are married with children know we don't get many of these chances.  Feel free to post your opinions about Alienware's comps, the Aurora in particular.  If anyone would like to know the specs, go check out the site or if your too lazy, ask me and I'll post em for ya.....Peace, thanks.

Yeah it was a bit pricey as far as a laptop goes but no big deal.

I've heard nothing but good reviews from people who actually own them. How many gigs of RAM did you get? What video card?

Yes please post the specs.  We could go to the site but it wouldn't tell us the spec YOU personally got.

Good, after about 14 months these machines tend to fall apart

Plastic screen surrounds go first - near the hinges
Then the plastics around the touchpad.

Two friends of mine have the Aurora and both machines have the exact same problems.......

Nice specs for a laptop.  I probably would have gone with C2D but that's just my opinion,

If you see the slightest hairline crack....report it immediately.

Alienware lappys are notorious for overheating hdd's and poor quality screen surrounds....however, when they are running fine you will be hard pressed to find anything faster

Alienware isn't overpriced for laptops, unless you're really leet and are going to build your own laptop.
