Help with a sig!

Just a quick question, what program(s) would I use to take a youtube video, turn about 4 seconds of it into a looped gif, and then use it as a sig?

Right now I am thinking

1. Use the firefox mod to download the video
2. ????????????????
3. Use fireworks to optimize the image
4. Have a new sig!

So basically I need a program that could turn each frame of a video into a picture

hmm... you could try and "acquire" some on-screen recording program and then record the video, convert it to .mov and then open it in imageready.

i made mine in a quick photoshop edit

though cannot do videos as far as i know

There is a Firefox plugin avaliable to capture the youtube videos in their native format. You then need another program to convert them into the .mov or whatever you want.

When you have the frames, you would then use Adobe Imageready to make the gif.

...If you could really be bothered.

Use your Firefox extension or go to Javimoya to download the Youtube video into a Flash Video file. Use VirtualDub to convert the movie into an image sequence, after cropping if need be. Then use your favorite GIF Animator to put it back together.

If VirtualDub doesn't open .flv's, then use VLC Player to convert the FLV to a more suitable format.

Dont bother, what ever you're making, it'll be way too huge for this forum, and you wont be able to use it, video sigs are a piece of shit too.

Master one frame sigs.
