I love my PS2, but I think I'll wait a couple of months for two reasons, first the price is too high, I ain't wasting 600 $ in a PS3, second the games available aren't taking advantage of the PS3 hardware yet.

And maybe Xbox's Conker: Live and Reloaded. Hilarious.

Theres your justification, though at this moment in time it is still not clear if HD-DVD or Blu ray will be the next format, but considering that and the fact its more powerful than most peoples computers then it's a pretty stagering machine.  But, I agree, 1st year of new console is a bit........  Remember the 1st ps2 titles?  BMW 3.28I, lol thing sucked but looked awsome at the time.  Mgs4 looks great, gran turisimo HD for car nuts will be the ultimate game (like me) plus all the other shit in the works.  I will wait till the next grand theft auto is out

and xbox 360 did jack with it's system when it was released too. give it some time. first gen games are always weak.

GT HD was scrapped so they could concentrate on GT5 instead.

I'll buy a Wii when someone figures out how to load rom's onto the harddrive. I don't feel like paying 10 bucks to play Super Mario.

That is exactly what microsoft's plan is, while nintendo undercut both of em with there 'cheap' machine, lots of people dont take the wii seriously, and while there is credibility in that argument, price is a major descision swayer, and the fact you can buy multiple wii's for a single ps3 will cause sony a headache.  Heck for the price of that dam ps3 I could get my two little cousins a wii each, rather than have them fighting over one ps3!  So for those of us who arent made of money a wii is the best choice right now, plus it's so funny to watch people play the tennis game on it lmao (fools).

It was only scrapped so that they could work only on the next full installment of the series.  All that means is it will take more time.

The way I see it, everyone is going to be a fan-boy of something.  Whether is be PCs, PS3, Xbox 360 or the Wii.  I would personally consider myself a Sony fan-boy.  I love Gran Turismo and that is the main reason I will buy the PS3, among the other cool games they have.  I also like the PC and Sony's PSP.

You can't really argue about the price of the Sony against the price of the Xbox 360 because it would cost $600+ to get an Xbox 360 that can do everything a PS3 can do.  e.g. $100 Hard Drive (only 20GB may I add) and $100 HD DVD player...  So really they are equal in price, but Sony isn't really hiding things from you.  They could have done the same thing Microsoft did, but honestly who wants another box sitting outside of their console all the damn time?

And that article is isn't really saying the PS3 is bad, the main thing I got from it is that you need a 1080p television and maybe should wait until there are better games for the system...  There usually aren't very good games when a console is released anyway, that doesn't make me complain about it.  Thats just being too overly critical...

I'm not getting a PS3 until I get a 50" 1080p Sony LCD.   Until then I'll just wait because you can't really enjoy the PS3 on a craptastick TV.

Cheers!

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you get a 360 pro ($400 and it has the hard drive built in) and the HD DVD ($100) you're still $100+ under the price of a PS3.  I was looking into which console to get and most of the people I talked to said that the PS3's they had been using had some major malfunctioning issues (i.e. one of them was used for a store demo and it started to smoke and promptly melted itself into oblivion a few days after it was installed and the second one installed was very glitchy from the start).

Be that as it may, for that extra $100 you claim, you get a technically superior machine in pretty much every area.  On the actual game's that is different, xbox will have HALO 3, PS3 will have GT5, basically goes on what series you follow what machine you will buy, considering the ps3 is a blu-ray player for half the price I will get it when it is released in the UK.  If that is a bad investment still remains to be seen, but I have watched a blu ray disc on a high end LCD 50'' and it was fan fuckin tastic!

The specs might say that it is techincally superior, but just going on what I've heard the PS3 has had some major hardware issues.  Personally I'm not going to buy a machine that more than one person has told me has a history (a bit breif, but still enough for statistics) of destroying itself.  As for the blu ray, it's kinda pointless to have one unless you actually have said high end 50" LCD in which case money probably isn't an issue for you.  Putting it on a normal TV really doesn't do anything seeing as DVD's arlready max out the resolution and sound.

Oh yeah, that was my bad on the price!  Oops, I forgot where I read that, but it did turn out the 360 was more expensive for near equal performance.

And every console has problems when they are first released.  They fix the problems, people move on, life is good.  I bought a PS2 on launch day in 2000 and it is still running to this day.  PS2 had problems, but I think its only a small part of the population that have problems.

Its not like you not buying Sony's console will hurt them.
