Hansim: Yes, I am!  Nah, no pro gamer here, I just play as a hobby.  I never really got into CS, but I played alot of Quake2/3 (Rocket Arena mods) and DC.

the way the maps and flags are layed out, it really incourages defending flags once you've capped them.  I was racking up points lastnight defending flags in Ghost town.  I finished with 86 points.   3 points for the kill in stead of the 2!
Indeed. Flag D is actually quite fun in the expansion now

Oh yea, rub it in why donchya.
I still rule the IRC universe!
I can't wait to get my internet back so I can try out some more SF.  I only got to play a few maps before a storm knocked out the cable.  Hopefully -all- the maps are infantry oriented...

@doxy: Thx for the interview-link. Interesting reading!

@Rakasan: What i've seen over there (your link) is even more awsome! So i'll have to do a lot of training hours . ...Quake2/3 (Rocket Arena mods) and DC... - ahh, yes i see. Thx for your information, kewl motivation to improve my own skills with small-arms.
I have already ordered BF2:SF and can't await till the postman knocks at the door, think tomorrow the x-pack will arrive. And then Go!Go!Go!

Hmmm, I guess I have to thank you all guys, I was really struggling with the question to buy it or not.  In BF2 one of the mayor problems is that you are almost forced to use some kind of vehicle on most maps. I really missed the infantery battles so I drove around in armor quite a lot. I really resent being wasted by armor, and since I obviosly couldn't beat them I joined them.

But after reading your posts I can say as a certified "thank whore" that I am pleased that the main focus is shifted towards grunt struggle. For players whith the same apptitude as me I think that it will add a huge improvement in gameplay!

@doxy, thx for the link!! Really nice stuff what I wanted too hear.

So once again, thx all, see ya soon @ BF2 SpecFor.

So far it's looking like it. Surge has quite a few armor pieces, but there's many a soldier walking around with their RPG's at the ready. I have found SF to be alot more twitchy and fast paced than BF2.

Heh I am still waiting for my copy of SF (preordered it from EA, BEFORE the whole online thing so i could get free shipping, still no word if they even shipped it yet) but I am glad to hear that they have made this a little more infantry oriented (like a red orchestra?).

I am wondering though are the maps set up like small towns with enterable buildings or are the maps pretty much all outdoors?

I think it would be great if they had more enterable buildings so squads could garrison inside buildings and llend support to another squad that is capping a point.

Also this is a randomly noobish question, but do the commanders still get the artillery barrage ability in sf?  Just asking cause that seems a little weird for special ops to call artillery in on "covert" missions.

I'm a Sniper really, (my stats actually say Spec. Ops, but my favourite weapon is still the Sniper Rifle,) so I think I'm going to enjoy SF.

my favorite weapon is also the sniper rifle (most played class is Spec Ops) and i would consider myself i pretty proficient sniper, but i can't handle sniping on Ghost Town.  Ghost Town reminds me of Mashtuur so i thought sniping would be the way to go, but man do i get killed a lot just lying down by sneaky players, other snipers, and attack choppers.  So yesterday while playing on a 24/7 Ghost Town server i decided i would just go crazy with the Spec Ops kit, never staying in the same area for more then 20 seconds mind you, and one round i got a gold medal, veteran spec ops specialist, and 39k/13d.  i guess that this is going to be my new strategy for keeping my k/d up in SF.

Everybody that's struggling, just say fuck it and go ape shit on the enemy...
