The M95 is one of the most powerfull sniperrifles in the world and at BFHQ it stands the damage is very high thats true but the M24 stands there that its damage is high but they do the damage the. M95 is a freaking 50.cal it can rip your leg off and the ammunation 50.cal has a diameter of 12.7 mm thats so freaking much. In my opinion this weapons should be a one shot one kill weapon and if it can penetrate plexi glass the weapon much be so powerful and the ammo so large i think EA should fix with the new patch when it arrives and what do you guys think.

problem would be that it would be a badass weapon... yeah sure, a sniper can't kill an APC or tank, but ppl who used the AWM in CS way to much, would be WAY to mean with it. Personally i hit pretty often and even get alot of HS on my hits... but if i just need to hit, there wouldn't be alot of challenge

true, in real life a .50 rifle will shoot through a brick was.  even a near miss to the head (bullet whizzing past about 1-5 inches) can kill...

but then you would have a server with 64 snipers and their M95s runnin around.  it'd make them weapon horribly unbalanced, and would screw up the rest of the game

now, how it takes 2-3 headshots from a pistol to kill someone, but a knife to the foot kills them instantly, i don't know....

Since the patch I am getting alot more 1 shot kills, on confirmed full health targets. Maybe they uped the damage a bit. I also killed a tank with an RPG to the treads right after it spawned. Maybe EA has done some weapon tweaks. Also noticed RPG has more splash damage than a regular AT.

but then EA should never had taked the M95 into BF2 but EA can do this thing that is if you make a 100% kill in some parts of the torso maybe the heart-region that would be good because it tests your skills of sniping and it makes it more real.

I'm curious if they actually tweaked damage values on weapons with this patch or not.  There's gotta be some way to confirm by editing some data files.  Anyone have an idea where I should be looking?

If you shoot a vehicle as it spawns it blows up... just letting you know.  And what, EA made a mistake about one of the weapons?  Impossible, EA doesn't make mistakes, they are perfect and do everything by the book.

Yeah, let me shoot you in the chest with an AK-47, M-16, or even one of the Pistols from BF2 I bet it would be one shot one kill. If you haven't realized BF2 isn't supposed to be realistic. With that said I've noticed that the M95 is more accurate now as I've been getting a lot more headshots thanks to the new patch.

Well, thats good news to hear, I always line up headshots and they always miss, I've tried aiming high, low, compensating for 'Bullet Drop' but nothing seems to work unless i get lucky.
sound like you need glasses more than luck;)

Give it a proper zoom, and any thing in med range is blury as #@$^%.  Long range only.  That would take out the AWP whores.

they should just drop the m24 damage to 70 dmg instead of 90.

there is no reason to make the m24 the same damage as the m95, its just stupid comparing in RL the m95 is much more powerful then the m24.

and i dont think the m95 should be 1 shot kill, takes away from the game, everyone will just whore the m95

One tip I got that really seemed to help is, make absolutely certain the reticule (I know you can't see it, but just guesstimate) has settled completely before firing.  When I started waiting for the imaginary reticule (and by proxy, the firing cone) to settle into position, the M95 kills started to come a bit quicker.

You'll still occasionally inexplicably miss at fairly close range, though...I think that's just the nature of the beast.

I would have liked to seen the M95 be a ‘one shot - one kill’ rifle, but to obtain this sort of reward would have needed to be more conditional.  So in order to obtain the M95 one would have needed to score a certain number of kills with his/her existing rifle.  Set the score to whatever imaginary number you like.  A sniper, say with 2000, rifle kills would have proven themselves to be a seasoned sniper and not just the occasional “I’ll spawn as a sniper and get that guy back!” kind of player.  You would truly need to earn a weapon with a ‘one shot – one kill’ parameter.

‘One shot – one kill’ shots need to be well placement.  I feel that shots placed in the arms or legs should cause severe damage (close to what the current M95 is capable of) but allow victims to make for cover.  Anything in the head and torso range would constitute the ‘one shot – one kill’.

I just don’t like the idea of people earning points in mass just to earn all the rewards.  I’ve earned badges I really don’t deserve by being a certain soldier class and killing people with a car mounted .50.  I wish they had made the unlockables and awards more specific to the weaponry rather than to the weapons kit you select.

To solve that problem, just hop in a tank.
