did it happen regardless of position? like if you were off the titan when it blew were you ok or did it crash?

I've abandoned 2142 now. Not a "boo hoo", but more of an "ahh... fuck it!" Back to BF2! I'm betting on this patch situation to be just like BF2, once the bugs are pretty well marginalized, they'll release a new BF. Hmm, anyone else ready for BF 1142?
played 3 rounds today, and a full 64/64 had this and 4 players didn't crash including me, so position isn't it...Ender2309 wrote:

I installed the patch, opened 2142, played a round and got the CTD at the end.
I so wanted to believe that Dice/ea would get it right this time, but no, FAIL AGAIN they have.
Expect a fix in 4 months.

Obviously its related to the configuration of your personal computer, if it wasn't then it would have been fixed. Its impossible to assemble every possible computer configuration and test it; its like the Supreme Commander BETA bug, where any anti good firewalls won't let the GPG client from jumping to the top of the network stack, everyone knows the problem, but because there are hundreds of firewall programs, its impossible they would have foreseen that error.

In the news ticket EA is saying that it has something to do with Nvidia and ATI's Drivers. It also says that they are working on finding the source of the problem.

I think they said it has something to do with users that use AMD and Intel procs ONLY. It ONLY effects people with ATI and Nvidia grafix cards. And ONLY O.S. that are Linux or Windows based. Everyone else should have a 13% chance of not haveing problems in a lest one round a night.

The thing is the problem was never there before so they have changed something to make the CTD happen.
So all this bitching about EA aside, I notice some people have said that they are not experiencing these difficulties.
Is there a way we can try an installation of patch 1.05 and then if it doesn't work just change back to 1.01? Some kind of solution like with the patch 1.4 beta for BF2 where you had to copy you BF2 folder and name it something else then install the patch. If you wanted to go back you just had to delete the foler with the 1.4 installation in it and rename the original one back.
Anyone?

same prob....always crash during the titan exploding animation......it didnt happen before v1.05
One of the main reasons people play 2142 is for the titan mode, are you really surprised EA/Dice have cocked it up.
I run on Windows Vista RTM. Was working fine and nice before 1.05.
Now 9 out of 10 times when Titan explodes I get BF2142 closed and a message about "BF2142.exe has stopped working" - it's Vista's way of handling CTDs.
This is extremely disappointing to me in 2142 as I seem enjoy only Titan mode. For conquest BF2 is better.

2142's new feature is a fucking joke:
- Was extremely laggy if titan was moved.
- Titans can't move when shields are down.
