Well, did you think they were real life experiences, or parables? Sheesh, they were meant to demonstrate a point.Dec45 wrote:
I couldn't even finish reading that. I felt your idea of the thread, but all of those were either largely exaggerated for totally fake and impossible.
I have personal experience in that matter, though I got it whittled down to a week's suspension for 'cool-off.' Still bullshit.ATG wrote:

First I was born in '87 so I have no clue what the '70s were like personally.
Although, I had a very interesting 7th and 8th grades. Being one of the only minorities in my hometown, I guess other students found that funny. Got into a lot of fights, won some lost others. Taught me when to back off, or to stand you're ground (I have one thing to boast even if I lost, if it was 1v1 the other person wasn't walking away, he'd be limping or in some form of pain. If they ganged up on me at least two of them would be in a world of hurt... /boast ). Anyways, best example: 8th science class. Kid really had it out for me and I mean he hated my living guts. He took an exacto knife and stabbed into my left hand. Not really thinking I pulled it out (that really hurt) so now I am even more pissed at this kid. Standing up I was too close for a good clean punch, so my elbow meet his jaw bone, it got fractured.
The school threatened to expel me. My dad upon hearing this marched into the school board and gave them a good talking (I have no clue what he said) but they didn't even suspend me.
See, people might be pussies. But you get someone who knows what is right in the world and you can make them understand. I have a thing I say a lot, I call people cowards. I call them cowards because they're afraid to stand up to what they believe. And that, IMO, is what a coward is.
That's what has changed in this world. People are afraid to stand up to what they believe is right. We're too afraid to be sued. We are obsessed with money. We do not open our eyes to what we really want. It is something that will itch us but we shut our eyes to it. I say open those eyes and say, "This isn't right and I'll make my stand. I do not care about what they will do to me, for I know that what I am doing is right."
I suppose getting into more fights and having more scars before age 14 than most people receive in a life time, really hardens the heart to the world.
Just my thoughts... they might not make sense but I just put them out there because maybe someone will read them and understand.

1973 and 2006 have nothing on 1984.
Big Brother is watching.

the 70's.
I was born in '89, but I know alot about history, so here we go.
The 70's were a good times. American Car companies were churning out the best cars on the market. Chevelles, Camaros, Roadrunners, etc. Muscle cars are the thing.
Cops are respected forms of authority. The US had just dealt with the Vietnam War. People were active politically, free speach is rampant. Disco is in, baby!
Jaws.
Oil embargo makes driving shitty for a little while.
other than that, I dont care.
the 2000's (In decisive words)
Homeland security
Bush
Terror Alert
Middle East
Oil
China
AIDS
Global Warming.
In essence everyone,
1970 Chevelle SS (red with black rallys) > BMW 745i
Disco > Rap
Venezuela > Iraq
the Fuzz > Police

Political Correctness Overkill, welcome to the Nanny State. It is now claimed that we are no longer able to make decisions or take care of situations our selves, but I suppose what should we expect especially now that you can sue someone over nothing at all.
1973.......MERRY CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS PARTIES AT SCHOOL (exchange gifts wit hyour classmates)
HOLLOWEEN PARTIES AT SCHOOL ( parade by students with holloween costumes on, yes even SCARY ONES)
EASTER BUNNY and EASTER EGGS
2006...........happy holidays
holidays around the world festival at school (exchange books with classmates because books aren't offensive, oh how fun)
fall festival at school ( no costumes, don't want to offend anyone)
spring bunny and spring eggs
I sure miss being a kid.

1973 sounds like the ole american dream to me... iow there never was a 1973
I guess the closest anyone ever got to 1973 was 1985
Must admit though, 2006 is pretty insane

1973 if you disagree with the goverment you support communism.

Other than commenting on how brilliantly realistic those scenarios are.............................
I'm curious: it's okay to target Muslims for security checks, but considering someone who brings a rifle to school dangerous is somehow wrong?

Isn't it ironic that America has become more pussified with domestic skirmishes (due to unrestrained sue-happy bullshit), but we've become more militaristic towards foreign disputes?
It's as if the frustrations at home have helped us to justify abusing the outside world....
