Supply drop at wrong position (bug?)

Over the last few months I have been puzzled by an issue that appeares to happen about 50% of the time. What happens is this... Ill be in a postion and call for a supply drop from the commander. When the supply drop icon appears in the mini map though, the icon is no where near me... often quite far off in teh distance. So when the commander does infact drop the requested supplies, they land right where the icon is on the mini map and not on me. I know that this is indeed happening to me and not that I am seeing someone else;s requested drop. This seems to happen randomly and its quite annoying. For example, ill be sniping on the hotel in Sharqi and request a supply drop. Ill be the only one anywhere near this flag. THe supply icon instantly starts to flash on the mini map about 1/2 way to the flag and then I have to give up my position to run to the crate and resupply.

Any thoughts>?

i've not had much probs with supply crates...mine are at most off a little...but what was atrociously off for me was the arty strike...this only happened to me after i patched 1.41...it was really really way off...and happened only when i arty the USMC ship on daliant plant...

just because you call for a supply drop from the commander doesn't mean you'll get it...

I used to have that problem on Zatar Wetlands. I just clicked further to the left and higher to make the icon go more-or-less whre I wanted it. Annoying though.

I understand completely how the player calls in the request and how the commander can either drop the supplies anywhere or right-click and accept the drop (making it land exactly on the player). What im saying is that the second I call for a supply drop an icon pops up on the mini map nowhere near me. Not the icon for the commander's drop.

u mean it landed somewhere else??could it be the commander accepted some other supply request from other people?

u have to point directly at the ground??i dont usually do that and i still get my request...

That's where you're wrong. As commander if you just accept a drop request (same with artie) it's very approximate... the likelihood of it dropping exactly where it's asked is about 2%!

That's quite normal, been the same since day one. Call for a drop the other way, it's more accurate.

ok, well thx for your responses. It appears its just how the game is and not something im doing wrong. Considering I call for supplies in the exact same manner all the time and it seems to be hit-and-miss as to if this glitch happens. Some days its all the time while others it never happens. Not the end of the world, I guess. Just glad to know its not something im doing/not doing.

Listen dude look at the floor when you call for supplies and the lil icon will be at your position. Just make sure you don't get killed by the supply drop. Or press caps lock and you will see your squads and map screen right lick on the your position and click supplies.

When you request supplies using your squad leader commrose, the request icon will appear on the spot your crosshairs are on. If that happens to be on the other side of the map, that's where the request will go. So, if you look at the floor, the supplies will be at your position every time.

ive commanded a few times on ghost town and my artillery bombs would continously drop on my own artillery cannons even if i clicked on the other side of the map. maybe there related o.O

I used to find a problem on zatar wetland as commander when you click to drop supplies it was always dropped about an inch away on the map.

If that isn't the problem then do what other people say and either point at the floor and request or load the map screen and request it from there.
