I woud,l get the 7900GT 512 MB edition

or get a 8800 GTS

or just wait it out a couple of months for the 8900GTX, and pick upa  8800 gts for dirt cheap

ima  bit mad i just noticed on egg Evga has put out a 512 meg version of the 7900gt!

ohwell i have the 256 mb both in SLI so it takes things with ease, still that is upsetting for the price i paid 3 months ago on these  like 280 each..now you can get a upgrade for less

i should call jake at evga

You're nuts if you don't jump on Km's 7950.....thats a sweet deal that will keep you happy far into the future (based on what you described about your preferences).   You can jump on the DX10 bandwagon a year or so from now once the dust has settled a bit and prices are more reasonable....

well kmarion had sold the card by the time i spoke with him so that didnt work out.

i instead went with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814150195

with the rebate, its a $200 7900GT. All I can say is that it absolutely blows away the 6800XT I had.

TV missiles work all the time and I can actually play the SF expansion now, its amazing!!!

Thanks everyone for the advice (and thanks bertster, because u actually posted a link to the card i bought)!

+1s all around.
