Yay! Just got back from a good ol fashioned break from BF2. New video card, now I can at least turn settings up to medium. The first thing I do is hop in an online game. Jalalabad is the map. I'm on a killing spree. I turn around, and boom! A weird screech-like noise comes from my speakers, and my computer freezes up.

A quick shut off from the back, and I boot it up again, to have it shut down three seconds after I boot it.

So about a few more times, and it actually gets to the BIOS. I hit exit, and it goes and shuts down again.

I boot it up again. No beep, just my computer repeatedly saying, "System failed"

It seems after all this occurs, I can only get my computer to boot up again after about 30 minutes of shutting it down from the back, and booting it up.

Now, I've seen my computer shut down on me out of BF2, but that only occurs once a year when the planets are aligned on a full moon. In other words, it rarely happens outside of BF2.

My PC specs:

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
RAM: 1024.5MB
Processor Speed: 2002.3 MHz
DirectX Version: 9.0c
Video Card: Radeon X1300 Series
Display Memory: 512MB
Display Driver: 6.14.10.6614
Sound Device: C-Media Wave Device (emulated)

Can someone help?

It doesn't sound good mate. I have never heard of this happening to anyone else. I think I do know what you mean on the huge screeching noise - had that a couple of times. Anyhow, you may have to reformat your hard drive if you can't get further than your bios.

check your heat sink still has a good contact with your CPU, i had a problem like that where it had to keep shutting down to save the CPU. you might have knocked it when changing graphic cards.
