I don't really see the point in Artillery with special forces.
It has nothing to do with sneaking, or getting blown away while sneaking.

Just my opinion.

yeh they prob could have left it out, they left planes out becasue the maps are to small and prob should have used same reasoning for the arty.

I don't think the purpose of SF is sneaking... at least it sure doesn't seem to be after two days of playing. I think the purpose is lots of new toys and some new maps to play with them on.

totally agree about the artillery, I hoped that they would have changed it for something else like AC-130 Gunship machine gun fire instead, but no and I always get hit by that god damn artillery. It does not fit into this game...
Special Forces! It's about silently going in doing stuff in secrecy and get extracted before anyone realised that you were there... they don't have time nor do they need deploy big fucking artillery cannons. THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THOSE OUT.

Just a idea, it would be better if they could drop a flare, too lighten the dark areas for some time.

I second that! Excellent Idea... but if you wear your night vision stuff, you'd go blind when a flare lightens the place....

I don't see the point of artillery full stop.  It's just there to give the commander something to do! Flares are a brilliant idea tho.

If you get the message "flares in your area" you shut off your nightvision and the enemy will go blind untill they shut their nightvision off.

Yeah, I was dissapointed that they didn't take the arty out, but when I played I never got killed by it. It seems like poeple are not being commander as much now. At least when I played.

I agree that arty doesn't fit well in the game.  Mayeb they could have at least changed it a little by renaming it "airstrike" or something and having only 3-4 explosions instead of 9 or how ever many are used in regular battlefield.  Obviously because of the 'airstrike' capability, there is a longer refresh time involved compared to arty.

You could even make it more complicated by having the need to 'paint' the target with a sniper or special forces unit.  Actually, that would DEFAINTELY make it feel more special forces.  A player requests a airstrike from the commander just as like regular BF2, and if it is available, all the commander has to do is approve it and then 5 seconds later, BOOOMMM.  LoL...just dreaming here.
