Lucid dreamers develop a frame of mind that allows them to recognize when they are dreaming. From that point, they are free to do as they choose. This freedom, hard to imagine in our highly constrained waking reality, is astonishing, exhilarating, and inspiring. The laws of physics and society are repealed. The limits are only those of the dreamer's imagination.
Has anyone here ever heard of Lucid dreaming? or tried it, even?

It seems really interesting, worth trying at the least.

I've had one once - a dream in which I was able to do everything I wanted and was fully concious. Since then I've always been interested in what they were, and recently I found out about this. Just imagine being able to do anything you want!

I dream like this quite often, it sucks when you wake up and everything is so disappointing because you were able to fly in your last dream.

i wish i could.  I've tried somehow.   i was in a dream one time, and i actually said to myself in the dream, "I'm only dreaming, I'm only dreaming." and the person in my dream that i was talking to was like, "what the fuck are you talking about??  you're crazy"  << thats the closest I've gotten.

really? why? I did read about a state of mind related to this once - where the transition between conciousness and sleeping isn't quite complete and some elements of your dream can remain 'real' for you after waking up, eg. seeing something from a nightmare at the end of your bed.

I was on a race track, and I crashed. Broke both arms and fractured my spine. I had trouble getting out of bed in the morning. It was real for me.

Doesn't work.
I am frequently aware of the fact that I am dreaming but am still unable to change any laws of physics or anything. It sucks and is very irritating. It makes me go: "What do you mean I can't fly? This is MY DREAM DAMMIT! I should be able to fly " But no, it doesn't work.

i had that kind of dreams when i was a kid. i could e.g. lift the bad guy on the other end of the room with pure brainpower and toss him wherever i desired. i was usually quite aware of myself dreaming, and could wake myself up at any point of time.
it's been years since i had the last one though...

Actually, it says on the site that it varies from person to person, and on your assumptions. as I said in the OP I have had one of these dreams before and was able to do anything I wanted, which I'm sure needs no further explaining

I've heard of it and attempted to do it for like 2 months. I just can't ever realize when I'm dreaming, I don't know why. I spent like all month thinking, "Am I dreaming?" in real life hoping it would carry into dreams, but never did. I had one good one before I even heard about it but it was a weird dream. I found like a portal to a different dimension in my closet where I was told I could do whatever I want, that anything was possible. So I had a lucid dream without knowing it's a dream. =P I only realized it one more time when I was in a kitchen kind of in a gun fight and then I was like "This is a dream..." And I started walking through all the gun fire and then I tried walking through a wall but it didn't happen.

i can always tell that i'm dreaming, its just...weird...i can't control my dreams though, and its kind of like being a spectator to the dream, like a 3rd person view clashing with a first person one.

I've had a few of these dreams over the years. Usually when I realize I'm asleep I wake up, which sucks since I have trouble falling asleep anyway. In my psychology class we discovered a bunch of students had lucid dreams fairly often and it was enjoyable to hear the various ways the mind explores it's unconscious desires. Discovering the whole concept of lucid dreaming is almost as enjoyable as lucid dreaming itself. The mind is limitless.

I had a dream that I was on a sinking ship and once it had went under, I went under too.  I was struggling, thinking that I was drowning and all of the sudden, when I couldn't hold my breath anymore I inhaled..........only to suck...in...air...?

Then I realised I was dreaming.....while I was dreaming.  I was dreaming that I was flying around underwater, fully able to breath, chillin with some fishy's and stuff.  It was pretty cool.  Sucks I haven't been able to do again since that time.

People who "OBEY", don't dream.  They practice obeying in thier sleep.

My physics teacher told our class about an experience he had with dreams as a kid.

Well, his dad thought it would be ok If he let a 7 year old watch dawn of the dead. so every night my teacher would have dreams where the zombies would come and get him, and like eat him or whatever. But after a while he figured out he could kind of like, twitch his eyes, and open them, and wake up. So one night he was dreaming about the zombies, and they come and grab him, so he starts to open his eyes. Then one of the zombies says "Hey, hes doing that eye thing again! Hold his eyes."
