so i need a new psu. if i'm going to get a 7900gt and it says : (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 20 Amps.) i take it that this psu won't do : http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6817103940

from what i read it only has 17amps on the 12v rail. or am i reading it wrong. can anyone help me find one that will work with a 7900gt. i'm lookin for good quality too.

Get a Hiper Type R 580W, they look the nuts, and run pretty sweet with those gucci little connectors.

i do like the modular cable design. i'm clutter freak, and this would work perfect. i'm not too familiar with Hiper though. the reviews are good though. thanks for the ideas.

However if you are looking for 'absolutely no noise' quiet. The Antec Phantom 500w is the only reliable one to go for. This series will be the PSU for my next PC.
