im kinda in the same boat...its just i built my rig last summer....and every year i buy something big....and i think this year, im goin for the HDTV....i would say, if your not havin problems with your computer....stick it out and go for the HDTV...its something new.....ya know....although, if your goin for a 40+ inch HDTV with 1080p....i would wait...thats new technology and costs alot....wait till it comes down a bit....or atleast till after christmas in hopes you can maybe catch a deal.....

If your leaning towards the xBox and an HD set.  Copy and paste this on a Xbox and HD forum.

hdtv + playstation 3
I would wait at least a year for the PS3, first, you won't get one at the retail price for almost six months anyway, and if you wait a year, you can save at least $100 on it.  I personally suggest going for a new Gaming PC, you will get more out of your existing games, and most of the console games are released on PC too.

I own both an Xbox, and a PS2, and will probably buy a 360 this year, and a PS3 in a couple of years.  I certainly understand the appeal of the console, but I really like PC gaming better.
actually sony is releasing another 600,000 playstation 3 consoles on december 14th and the gaming pc will be out of date within a couple months anyways
8800GTX graphics > PS3.

Go with the PC, your over due as the average time for a pc is 2 years, max is 5 so your right about there. The HDTV's will drop in price faster than the dual cores & the Xbox 360 will pull some $200 -$150 bullshit soon to undercut the Wii.
Thats my plan atleast excpet that I'll probably get the 360 for christmas, the non-hdtv one I'm suspecting.
I'll build the new computer with the tax refund & sometime mid-year I'll get the HDTV in time for football season. That way I'll have time to save for a sick as one you don't want to skimp on this.
So PC first then xbox360 after price drop & hdtv long term as the price is always droping.

Your in the same boat as me lol.
