"Virtual Guitarist" by Steinberg. Also "Guitar Rig" by Native Instruments; both are german software, very professional and highly recommended. For acoustic and steel guitars doing arpeges, with the right midi programming and process (EQ, FX, etc.) Reason may work, coz the quality of the samplings is good; maybe some Leads may work with Reason too.

wait, do you want to play your guitar and use your computer as, effectively,  a pedal? or do you want to emulate guitars created from your computer?

I thought it was the former, but the answers sound like the latter;

Either way, google is your friend.

Hm, if you only want to play guitar thru your PC, and dont want to emulate guitars, just use Line6 POD, PODII, POD XT, plug the audiojack in your audio-in and there you go...
