Seriously, every round I have to gun down some jackass who sprints at me from 100 meters away with his knife drawn. Do dog tags mean so much to people that they are willing to go 5 and 30 every round? Just today someone ran straight at me swinging his knife (still at least 20 meters away) while I had my Clark out. I'm all like "Easy there, Patrick Swayze" and blow his head off. Why are these people trying to be heroes? Seriously, some of you must watch Road House everyday.

rofl, i love that movie, but i don't play 2142 anymore so i don't know what it's like.
however, i went 10-7 on bf2 earlier with knife only, good times
(sad how a noob with pkm cant kill you when u run at him with a knife)

Ya that guy sounds like a hungry Noob going for the silver knife badge. But most of the time as long as the guys pull out there knife at a closer range, I pull mine out also. Sometimes they just want a challenge. But 20 meters, had that happen to me a few times also.
So I just shoot them in the Face for not trying harder to sneak up on me.

Well w/e i have alot of knife kills and the only time I would run up to someone like that is if I had active camo on, even then thats still stupid. But he was probably going for a badge or a pin though

For easy knife kills i wait till people use air defence to take out titan guns they don't even hear you coming, you have to be some kind of dumb ass to run at some-one from that distance with a knife, and let me guess did they call you a noob for shooting them lol

I don't have 2142 but if someone is sneaking up on me from behind to knife me in the back and I catch them I am most likely going to put half a clip in them. It takes no balls to sneak up from behind to knife someone.
It does take stealth which is good but not balls. It takes balls to run into a squad capping a flag and start knifing them, stupid but ballsy. It takes balls to go fight a war in real life not in a video game.

Ok if someone is close to me and has already tried to stab me then clip tp the face.

I i see someone with a knife in hand then i will pull my knife out to fight them,i ain't one of these people who have a knife fight and then pull my gun out and kill them.

I think JG1567JG is right you need balls to run into a crowd of people and start knifing them.

I find it fun to get in to a crowd and try knifing them, sometimes they wanna have a fight to. Second as engineer I try to knife if i can because I don't wanna waste my pilum shots on soldiers and engineer first weapon is so weak you only have a chance of killing 2-3 if you suprise them behind. Not only that its weak as hell and almost have to waste half the clip to kill.

He probably over heated/ran out of ammo so thought he would try his chances . Seriously though, on occasion 2142 has given me some really undeserved dog tag's, guy was a cleary 10ms away behind the wall I was being shot at, one last click and I got them :S Just the same, I dodged a guy and he got me, so I can only presume that he thought he would give it a go, what is the worst tht can happen, you kill him at a 1m range or a 20m with your dam clark.

WHY do people run around knifing people when they're already winning by over 150 points?!?! I think that just adds insult to injury and is very unsportsmanlike. Even up the teams or just simply shoot. You're being a jerk if you're knifing with your team up that many points. I've been knifed by someone on the ground when I just stepped off a ladder and I'm 10 feet above him! EA needs to work on how far the stab distance is effective.

I shoot people in the head that run around trying to get knife badges. They think they're sneeking up on me and I spot them while they're still 10 yards away and double tap their skull. I only knife when I see a sniper who's been pestering my team stuck on his sights, not watching his back or if I've run out of ammo. If someone has been knifing a lot, I take note of his name and ruin his KDR with my assault rifle.

If you want knife badges, just go onto a titan map, wait till the shields go down and sneak up on players that are trying to toss grenades and stuff down the hallways leading to the console, or are camping on the upper deck. When you're done, go down the hallway, get healed by the people camping the hall, run back up to the hangar bay, and pod back to the rear entrances. Rinse, repeat.

I once knifed two entire squads on the upper decks before their medic got me. I've also knifed dozens and dozens of guys trying to storm down the console hallways, or guys trying to get past the people defending the reactor core room. They're paying so much attention trying to do their thing that you can just blend into the crowd if you're not acting like you're trying to gank their tags... Good squads have a lookout and they use voip, however. They're lots harder. Sometimes you can quietly kill the lookout before they shoot and alert everyone, but if they're using voip you're gonna get it by someone. Lack of effective teamwork is your friend.
