No, it depends soley on the individual monitor in question.

You don't see less idiot, it is just smaller, quality like I said depends entirely on the two monitors in question, a 1280x1024 17'' will be better quality than a 19'' 1024x768 DUH!

Now that gpu's can deliver pretty formidable pixel count's, you need a high spec monitor, and a 19'' running well will obviously be better than a 17''.  But don't just buy the 19'' because it is bigger, you can get excellent high spec 17'' for less than a shity 19''.

if you're watching DVD's from your bed, of course you see less with a smaller screen. It's like standing further away. All agree that if im standing 200 ft from a monitor i see less than standing 2 ft from it? Okay then!

You're not right nor wrong
VERY big screens often have worse image quality if you look at it at the same distance than a small screen, because the big screen is meant to be watched further away.

The difference between 17' and 19' is that 17' is too small. Go with the 19'. There probably is no quality loss if it's the same monitor of different size.

You should give us links to the monitors or we can't really judge

Can't say anything about those. I don't know any of the manufacturers. If you're gonna go with one of those, take one with 8MS refresh rate. 12MS is too slow.

Yea I was looking at responce times, not refresh rates, the last of the three then, but I also thought the middle one looked better.

Give a budget for a new pc and I can check.

why are you choosing that one then? any reason or just like the pretty picture onscreen?

Well number one has not got a very good contrast ratio, 500:1.  The other two have better 700:1, and out of the two it was six and half a dozen really which one you take.  Second or third in the list would be best, I couldnt find technical specs for the 17'' (fourth one) on that site though :S

Get a 24'' Dell like mine

You own a tech forum right?  Shouldn't you know this?

The third one is the best, althought I havn't heard of the brand.
