Whats the difference between career points and global points on 2142?

I heard global is like points from kills and stuff, and career is points from receving awards.
Which one determines your rank for you?

That don't make sense. So you can get a million kills and no points from awards, and you will never rank up.

Meaning the only way to rank up is through getting awards?

no you can also rank up with the points you get from kills.... and you can get points from getting pins... say you kill 5 people in a row you get a pin worth 5 carrer points...say you get 10 kills in a  row you get a pin worth 10 points

Normal points + the extra things you get ingame (+1 titan defence, awards, etc) = Career score

Career Points = Global Score + Career Points

IE, say you got 50 kills and a 500 pt badge

550 = 50 + 500



550 Total Score.
