I have known a few guys that have tried or been in Australian SAS. From their stories it is on of the toughest things you could ever do in your life. The majority of guys that try out (already being experienced and super fit soldiers, usually already with some airborne or special forces traing) fail for a good reason. They only take the ab-so-fracking-loot best.
My RSM went through that, wasn't allowed to tell us if he was accepted/rejected or not.

The only problem with that training process is that they can't interact with normal society afterwards, its why you hear of so many SAS soldiers getting in fights and killing people.

The whole aim of Aussie SAS applications, is to break you. Not only is it extremely physically demanding, but psychologically as well, and thats where quite a few people miss out.motherdear wrote:
