HIND autofire?

I've noticed this while flying attack helicopters. For all helicopters in BF2, you get 1 missile per click.
In SF, You get 1 missile per click for the Apache, but for the HIND, if you hold down the firing button,
you go full auto until you empty your pod.

It's slightly advantageous to do so because then your impact zone is much smaller (remember the massive spread on this beast) since your missiles are firing near simultaneously. In any other helicopter, this can only be achieved by furiously hammering down on the firing button. I personally fly keyboard only and being right handed, I can't spam the spacebar quickly enough with my left hand to achieve this effect(practicing though).

So, my questions are these: Why is the HIND the only helicopter capable of this?
What is your opinion on the autofire mechanism?
Did you know of this?

P.S: Tested this on the Iron Gator(local server). I was able to land all of the missiles on or beside a jetski parked in the water while circle strafing(repeated attempts yielded similar results). Pod empties within approx. 2~3 seconds. I'll try to get some screenies up when i get the chance.

Well I certainly know that there is no way you can set up a macro to fire all the missiles from any attack helo on full auto, hell no.

But I think it's to even out the superior manoeuvrability of the Apache

Yeah its nothing new. The HIND is fine for raping people on the ground but if you need to bring down an Apache good luck without a good gunner.

I had a friend who flies the BF1942 planes with his keyboard only. he uses the NUMPAD arrows as the mouse, and 'wasd' as ... well, 'wasd'.

The Euro Fighter is full-auto on it's missiles. No other jet is capable of that either that I'm aware of.

Ok first of all, yea, i play goofy, on a laptop nonetheless. I've inverted my pitch so that arrow up is pitch back and arrow down pitch forward. Right and left control my tail rotor. A and D control my rudder. W is torque up and S is torque down. Spacebar is for firing(I use my left thumb for this).

I play with a G5 Logitech and have tried to fly using KB and mouse. It works(really sensitive though), but I prefer KB only because I feel
a) more comfortable and
b) more controlled.
I tested myself by flying into the Gator all the way to the fore deck and back with both KB and KB/Mouse.
I succeeded twice out of 10 times with KB/Mouse while I went 9/10 with KB only.
I also have limited mouse space so I often crashed while bringing the mouse back to continue my spins.
By playing KB only, I have reduced crashes to a rare event.

To each his own right? Feel free to ask for more info.

P.S: I use my mouse when I solo, and even then, only when im firing TVs.

Interesting find. Another vehicle with full auto missiles. Dont own Euro Force though. Would like to test it vs. click jets.

Exactly, every maneuver is being pulled at the maximum the helo or jet is capable of. I started flying using keyboard only in bf1942 and it worked quite well for me then. Works especially well in dogfights cause there was almost no way the other plane could outmaneuver me. I'll admit it's probably harder to learn, you have to constantly readjust your self hitting an arrow button for a millisecond or two every time. But I think it's probably easier to use than KB+M combo for strafing attacks, very easy to put the helo into a slight roll and get it flying sideways.

I don't know why, but I also find it insanely easy to fly the helicopter inches off the ground this way. The only time I've found the keyboard only method to be flawed is when I'm trying to use machine guns on a jet to shoot down another moving jet. Just don't have enough control to put accurate fire on a moving target.

Wake Air show has it, along with the Tiger HAP if you are curious as to how to it is. But anyways, yea you can just sit in the euro fighter in the hanger and hold fire and it's kinda fun.

What is your opinion on the autofire mechanism?
A: It doesn't make much diffrence, personally i dont like it because i usually line up my target area by firing off 1 missle, then the rest for the kill. Besides i can spam as fast as autofire so it doesn't matter.

Soloing is fine as long as you dont have a gunner. In my line of playing I ussualy get a gunner. The bad part is I ussualy get a horrible gunner. That doesnt know the exsistence of TVs let alone how to use them.
