BF2 is a damn good game its designers did a good job in general and the people that play it make it even that much better. But for the Love Of God Please do something about the idiots that just jump and hop around on the map. Not every player does it as a matter of fact very few do. But the ones that do are just retarted as can be. I can only amagine the Hell I would have had to go threw if I had started Jumping around Like a rabbit when A fire fight broke out when i was in the Marine Corps. I most likely would have been the first to die or at the very least would have fallin on my ass after hoping a few times and spraining my ankle on the "Ohhhhh Soooooo Level Ground". Need to make a patch that causes random injuries or something to limit that Juming around crap.

STFU it's a game! not RL
bunnyhopping has been around since the beginning and its still here after they nerfed prone spamming/dolphin diving pretty sure its here to stay. and i doubt EA cares about BF2 anymore.

Hah lol I once tried bunny hopping at paint ball, and needless to say it did not work!
Your right it is a game but it is damn close to rl if i wanted to bitch about a game that had nothing to do with real life i would go bash pacman or missledefense on an Atari Forum of course im not going to tell you to STFU Emil the Slayer because anything coming from such an ingnorant dumb ass may be entertaining and I would hate to deprive my self or anyone else of such enjoyment.

In real combat, you will do anything within your grasp to stay alive, just like in a video game. Bunny hopping is a way to stay alive in-game.
It is there, they have dumbed it down very much already, adapt to it.

this has already been covered in a million different posts. as a side note, i love bunny hoppers. they can't shoot in the air, so just stick your crosshairs where they're about to land and blow them to bits. it's not rocket science.
I'm just going to say...
BF2 comes nowhere close to RL and isn't supposed to. Spawning (infantry and vehicles), doing barrel rolls in helicopters, static environments, unmanned automatic artillery, ridiculously low accuracy, the limit of 6 seats per vehicle, AFV driver/gunner combos, no loaders for vehicles, no top-mounted M240 on the M1A2, many of the guns aren't used by the armies they're attributed to, huge drop on grenade launchers, the concept of flags in itself, the maps, the "out-of-bounds" thing, the mild punishments for TKing, sticking C4 on tanks like No.73 stickybombs from WWII, claymore spamming, the zoom on sniper rifle scopes, the M24 reload process, the lack of a QJY-88 for the PLA, the idiotic missile-evading/attracting properties of the various planes, the tiny rocket launcher ammo counts on attack helis and their reloads, the Hellfire being a TV-guided missile instead of a LGM, uncappable bases, the common weapons for all teams, the HK53 magazine, the lack of any customization for anything, the lack of the entire US Army, the notions of a fighting EU and MEC, the tiny "Great Wall", automatic repairs over the carrier and helipads, manned Phalanxes (and the fact that you die when they're destroyed), those stupid RIBs, the Stinger and IGLA seats, half of the default localization messages are wrong, body armor only being able to withstand 1 or rarely 2 shots, the inaccuracy of the MP5, the trigger-packs on nearly every HK weapon, the spaceship takeoffs in the F-35, the bolt sound of the M95, the lack of working bipods, prone-spamming, the entire commander screen, the UAV trailer, the "satellite scan" being controlled by a radar dish, tanks being able to spin their turrets at 500RPM, the extremely weird properties of AA-vehicle and APC autocannons for the purposes of balance, the quick and deadly overheating, the lack of Tunguska radar, the lack of Essex radar, the die-or-bail-out aircraft, the either alive-or-exploded vehicles, the instant exit-enter...
The list goes on and on.

Be happy people cant jump and shoot you at the same time.
I myself have a tendency to hit the space bar and jump from time to time, but usually I do it when its the same person that keeps killing me because of their dive to the ground with the PKM and take my head off in one shot. I just like to turn the tables on them a bit, then hear them cry about me jumping when they themselves constantly dive to the ground - its no different, your just going the opposite direction
And welcome to the BF2s forums, let me introduce you to SEARCH
lol @ k30dxedle....completely agree!
Yes, its "close" to RL (well, its based on it anyway), but ffs, its a computer game. Balance? Fun? It all plays a role - a major role - and if players broke their ankle every time they jumped over a box, that would become frustrating would it not? Then everyone truely would be a medic whoring faggot spamming medpacks to heal themselves. But then thats not realistic....so you wouldnt be able to do that. In fact, you'd probably radio for a medivac (actually...that would be amazing!!!)
An M95 would kill everyone in RL if shot in the chest...does it do that on BF2? No. Because otherwise you'd end up with gameplay like CSS - a bunch of 1 hit kill, AWPing faggots.
If you want realism, play AA.

To k30dxedle, don't forget magic shock paddles that revive dead soilders that was hit in the head with an M95 (NOT REALISTIC). Shock Paddles in real life only help with heart related issues.
Bunny hopping isn't a huge problem. There are pros and cons to bunny hopping. The hopper is harder to hit, however is unable to defend himself until he lands.

I really dont give a damn, i just play this game
They have nerfed the game enough if you dont like then stop playing it.
Okay, I had to cut you off on that one. Many helicopters are perfectly capable of not only doing barrel rolls, but are also capable of loops and other acrobatic stunts, many of which would have certain applications in military combat. The fact is, helicopters in real life can be much more agile than BF2 would indicate, and this would be especially true of military helis, most especially true of light attack choppers like the AH-1Z. The only real limitations to acrobatic tricks would be aircraft weight and blade length (heavy aircraft will have longer or more blades) being a problem because blades are flexible, up to a point.k30dxedle wrote:

BF2's representation of helicopter flight is actually fairly realistic most of the time, but it's drastically simplified and therefore has limitations. For instance, helicopters in BF2 have no collective control, and downward thrust is only controlled by engine torque. So, when you attempt to do a barrel roll in the game, but cut power significantly whilst you're upside down (to keep your chopper from meeting with the ground too quickly) you have no power to the rotor, and you can't finish the maneuver.
In real life, you'd keep the engine RPM constant, cut the collective, and use the cyclic controls with full ability. In real life, in an agile chopper, it would be very possible to lose little to no altitude when doing a barrel roll, assuming you gave the aircraft a little vertical momentum like you would do in an airplane, but this is quite unlike the way it works in BF2. Same with loops--at the top of the loop you'd reduce the amount of cyclic input so you don't go speeding towards the ground, and you would instead complete the full loop fairly gracefully. The problem with doing these things is that it does put quite a load on the rotor, blades, and the drivetrain, especially if the aircraft is not designed to take the elevated stresses of acrobatics.
Look here: real life examples.

A Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion could also do most of these things way back in the 60's, albeit a little bit more slowly, and it's a fact. I'd bet a blackhawk is capable of some impressive stuff too.
Lemme knife your foot through a wall sometime and you can keep on repeating, "It's damn close to RL, it's damn close to RL..." for all the good it'll do youDioE3R wrote:

Hoo-rah.
I can get a knife though some fences, but not walls in Real Life.

I'll be honest, bunnyhoppers piss me off. I was for nurfing the jumping abilities. And still agree with it.
But now I don't care as much. Why you ask? Because I can kill them mid air. And then they get pissed off.

why didnt they kill you when you were in the corps.
bunnyhopping ftw
bunnyhopping ftw
Agreed...if it's a part of the game and not an exploit...use it or not your choice. Staying alive is what you need to do to succeed. As long as the game allows it others are going to do it, adapt. Like BigmacK said, if they are hopping around, time the shot at their head in mid-air, just like timing a shot on a running target. If it's allowed within the server's rules and it helps you stay alive, do what you got to but be advised, after I see you hopping a few times, I'm going to change my aiming point and you'll fall down the hard way :-)...BigmacK wrote:

That's a real asshole thing to say...Janja wrote:

bunnyhopping ftw
i love to jump around like a retard to avoid being shot
This thread got stuffedso hard into the ass it came from by all the logical and awesome people of BF2S, that it is not potruding from the illogical and retarded mouth of its originator. one word to describe the complete destruction of any credibility or respect for dioE3R. OWNED! (or in the case of 2 words.) FUCKING OWNED!
Come play WWIIOL if you want something close to a real-life game (i.e., no bunnyhopping and whatnot).
