The server is back up and running. So come and get some.
But before I go do the same it's only fair to say one thing about StrafeRight.
I've never been on such a quality Battlefield 2 server in my life. I have absolutely no association with the StrafeRight members and have absolutely nothing to gain as the popularity of the server is restored. But I'm certainly proud to be part of the StrafeRight community. Truth be told I would've quit playing Battlefield 2 LONG ago if it wasn't for this fantastic server. The squad play on this server is top notch. The map rotation is (in my opinion) perfect. No lame ass rules to restrict legitimate game play tactics and the server administration is thorough and fair. And last but certainly not least the community is second to none.
I've never endorsed a Battlefield 2 server before but StrafeRight is worthy of my endorsement. It is the best public Battlefield 2 available bar none and believe me when I say I've played them *all*. I'm thrilled to see the server restored after the whole 2142 nastiness and I encourage every member of the BF2S forums who enjoys squad play and playing with other top notch BF2 players to go give the server some love.
