Hmmm, perhaps if they disabled the guest account and assigned a password to the user account in the video, the scripts would not be allowed to run without permission like they did.  (hint- disabling guest accounts and remote accounts via the control panel only turns them off in your account shell-- think registry)

I have a fairly elaborate network, with only one server running security scans, and my router is the only firewall (linux IPcop- homemade)...  Of the three nodes that have no security installed, simple steps have ensured a safe experience.  Setting passwords, group policies, and access restrictions are only the most basic ways to secure a windows PC.  Try doing things professionaly-  did some website just ask you to update Flash player?  Instead of hitting the "install now" -instead, go to Adobe and use their update, check the MD5 checksums if provided,  allow windows/IE6 warn you of potential threats instead of checking the "don't ask again" boxes wherever they should appear.

Going into your firewall and allowing access to only the ports you use rather than a broad list of commonly used ports that are set up to make it easy for average home users.  Do you access telnet or vpn servers?  Then why the hell are those ports open?  I can drive a truck through the holes that are present in most routers by default, straight out of the box.. Because i am a leet hacker?  No- because I know how a router works, they have user manuals, lol.

Just realize what you are doing, don't just expet nortons, mcaffee, IE7 phish philter, etc to do the job.  Most Hax are not carried out by skilled hackers, but the ever popular script kiddies, and nowadays more often than not,  code is executed from zombie computers. 

So you see, defense is not being smarter than the hacker, but being smarter than the systems and hardware you utilize.  It's called reading- it could save your life.

When i was around 10 i cryed when someone hacked my 1337 mining/pking account. I litterally cried. Went to bed later that night and cried myself to sleep thinking my life was over.

I couldnt fucking sleep for a week after playing Half Life when I was 10, at the part where the shit hits the fan, fuck.....
