Does star docks windows blinds eat up alot of resources, if so. Would it be noticable? and would it affect bf2 gameplay?

I dunno. I suggest just using the blinds that were there when you moved in and worse case scenario tacking a dark colored blanket over the window.

they could affect bf2 gameplay,if they're open and the sun is shining on your monitor you won't be able to see sh**.
seriously, i would think there is a high risk of them using too much as bf2 is quite a memory hog.
p.s i've a amd64 2800 + 1.5gig ram and i can't have very much running in the background i.e ts and xfire only,hope this is of some help.

desktop theme'y type thing,used something similar ages ago,but did'nt like it.and thinking about it,it did slow down my p.c somewhat.
What graphics card did you have at the time
I had WB with aero glass theme and object dock (or rocket dock, can't remember) with glass theme also and didn't notice much of a difference

included is the autopatcher for windows and a decent theme that im using atm.

Do you mind if your computer crashes too? ... Programs like this sometimes will cause your system to crash so be warned. Yes, the themes are cool - but I would rather have a stable machine. It's going to eat up some ram too, here's one example:White-Fusion wrote:

Window Blinds does not make your computer crash, I've been using it for over a year & have never once had a problem & to answer the OP question: I really doubt it uses enough resources to effect gameplay, I already had everything set up before I got BF2 but if you look in task manager it doesn't seem to use very much of your power so I'd say it's safe. I have a complete window blinds theme with big icons & Object Dock Pro running 24/7.

I've been running Stardock stuff for years. I haven't had any problems worth mentioning since ver. 3. Versions 4 and 5 have both been fine. I'm currently running an oc'd A64 3800, 7800GTX, and 2gb of RAM and honestly, I can't tell it's running. I see a much bigger performance hit from NOD32 (AV app). W/blind is using about 2.6mb of RAM. Add in cursor XP and some of the other bits I'm running, and I'm still only at about 15mb of RAM for Stardock stuff. For reference, FRAPS is using 9.6.
I don't really play BF anymore, but when I did, I never turned anything off (AV, browser, stardock etc). I tried benchmarking both ways, but I didn't see much of a difference, certainly not enough to go through the trouble of disabling things. I haven't done that in many years.
I've used the msstyles patch as well (what hyper is talking about). It works well enough. I still use it at work now (where I can't run Stardock stuff). I don't like the themes as much, but there are some good ones. ChaNinja was my favorite, for whatever that's worth. At any rate, I switched back to Stardock for the features. The msstyles hack+themes work, but lack most of the features of the Stardock suite.
