Run VirtualDub, open your video, goto Video -> Compression and select divix or xvid, then goto File -> Save as AVI
It's your compression that's screwing your video. When fraps makes the videos they're uncompressed so they look great but are monster huge, so you have to compress them. If you use a crappy compression scheme your video will look like that. xvid or divx are pretty much the interent standards and do a good job.
You don't have to use virtual dub, Windows Movie Maker and others probably can do the same thing, but I've grown up using Virutal Dub so thats what I know how to do.
