First off, this is a totally retarded question so humor me

What if...

What if America gave every person on this planet $5,000 (American dollars) to do whatever they pleased. Do you think this would help people start a new life without hate for America? Could people forgive their differences and stop fighting eachother? Do you think they would be nicer to Americans if we shared our wealth? (I'm poor as are all of my friends but somehow we are considered to be rich Americans by many)

Or do you think they'd spend it on strippers and drugs and increase the violence like in New Orleans?

Economics doesn't work that way. You would devalue the money given out simply by giving out for free.

Plus: what does $5000 mean to a Palestinian whose had their farm cut in half and their access to the nearest hospital cut off by the US-backed Israeli apartheid wall. Not everything can be solved by throwing money at it. Often actions are better than dollars. Look at Africa: billions in aid and barely any progress to show for it. Give a man a fish and he won't go hungry for the day, teach a man to fish and he won't go hungry ever.

I would like it if Iran gave me $5,000. I wouldn't hate them so much if they did that for me.

I'm sure it would make a lot of people around the world like America more than they do. Many others would probably use it as another excuse to hate America.

It could never work though. That would cost $30 trillion. If US debt rose by that much the entire economy would crumble.

It seems like everyone despises most Americans because we have a better life than they do. I get jealous of rich people. But if my rich neighbor gave me money, I'd totally like them.

China maybe.

The EU would be more likely to step up and fill the role currently played by the US, they would probably be better suited to such an economically dominant role, especially since the EU have much greater economic stability than the US and a much stronger currency.


It probably would help a lot of people.

I disagree with the jealousy theory. Loads of people just don't like the way American foreign policy has affected their lives, giving tacit support to their corrupt rulers, exploiting their resources, etc. There are plenty of anti-Europeans out there too and it ain't down to jealousy either. The likes of France and Britain raped their way across the planet - not something that generally enamours one with a particular nation. Japan are despised throughout eastern asia - why? Because of things like the rape of Nanjing and other ridiculous war crimes for which they were never brought to justice. The US doesn't have the monopoly on being hated here.

I agree with this but it's like here in America, African Americans hate the white man for things our ancestors did and my generation had nothing to do with. I don't think that's fair. I don't hate any Germans for what hitler and Germany did back before I was alive. I don't get why grudges go on for generations. Maybe we should stop teaching history so everyone will forget someday and we can start over but keep the technology we have today. I don't like being hated for something I didn't do.

Exactly what would happen, the majority of people who are poor are either in a place where it impossible to get rich and like wise 5,000 dollars wouldnt do shit or they waste away there money on strippers, drugs and more violence.
