My favorite promotion was First Sgt.
the 2 part screenshot shows me first firing a T-90 round into the cab of the mec transport chopper from about 300 yards..
The second screenshot shows me finishing it up with the mounted .50, there were four people in the chopper.. two tried to bail so they were blown across the map by the explosion...And the promotion appears..
The chopper wreck then proceedes to fall into their uncap and explode (out of my view) killing another 4 enemies, of which I get two kills and the dead pilot get's two Tk's
Not a bad way to start the rank.

I got my 2nd Lt by spawning in a fire fight and dying. I got the rank for taking one of the bastards with me. The screenshot of the promotion is me laying on my side.
Edit: Oh yeah, suggestions. Personally I like the knife/shock paddling a tank gunner or parachuting on someone. Parachuting would be super hard unless you set it up though. Go for the tank gunner. He's a prick anyways.

Ive had ONE ladder kill in (as above mentioned) 1000 hours of BF2. Getting one full stop is rare, getting it on bushviper is liek dble-u-tee-ef

well if you want to get promoted same rank more than once by different ways of getting it then all you have to do is...
Join server once you have above the score needed for promotion, get rank by how u want it. Then when it is awarded, leave the server a few seconds after, then join another and do same... it will keep ranking you to the same rank.
Also i took a video of me gettin the rank and i got a screenie of me gettin ranked in another server, so just tell me if u wanna see the video and ill upload it.

get into a parachute and hope a heli or jet flys into you they will die hitting yoru parachute.

Anyways, I say you should go into the enemy base, toss some C4 on their attack heli or their jet. Let them take off and fly around for a few minutes, then make it go boom.
