Ive a problem with my comp, since I formatted it and reinstalled Win xp. Ive three users on my comp and sometimes, when I want to logout one of the user (clicking on the orange button in the blue window), the computer turns in sleep mode, "Off mode in 5 seconds" is written on the screen, and the screen turns off. The computer is still on, but in sleep mode, and Ive to reboot it because I cant wake it up by moving the mouse or by pressing keys on the keyboard.

I'd want it to logout the user, and go back to the blue screen with the menu of the three users, as it is supposed to do...

If someone knows how to resolve this problem, It would be very appreciated

Thank you

Simple

Start > Run > Control Panel > Power Options

On the main page under 'system standby' Change this setting to "never".

Apply, OK.

For Safe measures go to the 'hibernate tab' and disable the system from hibernating as well.

Also, when it is in sleep mode, just press the power button on your comp (not move your mouse/press your keyboard) once and it should come back on....

When you put your system into sleep mode you have to press the power button on your computer to wake it up from sleep mode, moving mouse pressing keyboard will do nothing.

it already set to "never" that is the problem.

Didnt know about the power button thing though, because I never use the sleep mode...

Anyway I would want it not to turn into sleep mode even if I can press the power button.

ok the issue happened again and pressing the power button doesnt even help. When I logout a user, the pc becomes totally inert, reseting it is the only option..

Someone has an idea ?
