I plugged it in the first time, the computer went into a blue screen because it thought it was severely damaged, I did the 5-second power button trick. Logged back into Windows as normal and it detected the "TI GRAPH DEVICE" and asked me if I wanted to install drivers for it. It couldn't find any drivers so now i'm stuck. How do I get it to work, I want to put some shit on it.
Nevermind, I fixed it but now I can't figure out how to transfer apps onto the calculator with this stupid TI Connect software.
drag n drop
ti connect
I can't find any drag and drop screen. Why did they make it so damn hard to navigate?
Now I see what you mean, nevermind.
Wow, I thought I was done with fucking up my day after I already went Christmas shopping. It turns out I have a faulty piece of shit for a USB cable, you have to hold it a very certain way or else it won't do find anything, I was trying to install OS 1.19 on my calculator and it fucks up early in the download so now it tells me: "Waiting..... Install new software now" then immediately switches to an error telling me to press any key and turn it off, then turn it back on again. Top that off with some throwing of a certain calculator at a certain carpet and you get an overall darker screen and a darker spot in the middle of it. FUCK
With few exceptions, beating on equipment usually doesn't make it work, but it does make you feel better. I am fortunate enough to have an external 4x DVD writer lying around that occasionally requires a swat on the side to start up.
I fixed my Ti-89 in this way:
use CD to get TI connect
go to TI website
download driver
DO NOT USE WINDOWS DRIVERS - INSTALL DRIVERS BEFORE CONNECTING DEVICE
It might be a good idea to restart your computer now.
THEN
Connect Ti-89 (or 83 for you)
EDIT: when you connect it, if windows still asks you for driver, (I think), either search for it on your CD (try this first), or don't look for a driver.
In TI connect click "TI Device Explorer" - It will display all main folders. To install apps, Browse for the app file and drag it into the appropriate folder.
Done. Hope it helps.

Saw a friend's laptop. It had less than three-quarters of the keys left and the screen had massive black splotches (one big one) and cracks (black ones, not literally cracked) all over it.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

It's too late now, the message telling you to install new software doesn't stay on the screen nearly long enough for it to download the new OS onto the calculator. It's pretty much a piece of fucking garbage now but my mom says we should keep it anyway.
