if your running and then type, you will keep running, its a bug i think, unless your just talking about mystery running!?

It does this in single player, just say you are walking toward something, you let go to stop... it keeps walking.

Well, It does it with the setting turned down as low as they can go. Plus, mine doesnt do it and im running 1gb ram and a 2400+ with a X800pro...?

Weird. I'm guessing it's one of three things:
1) virus/spyware is hogging system resources.
2) he has a lot of other crap running on his machine hogging system resources.
3) he has a bad installation of BF2 (try reinstalling then defragging all of his drives, fragmentation can make some serious performance issues)

Sorry man, but that's all I can think of right now. It's 3:30 AM here, so I'm probably not at my best anyway.

that always happens to me when i type and run , its not lagg its just some sort of glitch its kinda usefull becuase im moving and typing instead i could get shot in that one spot so i find it helpful for me.

My keyboard has started to do it with the shift......

unless he is typing in the chat, it's very likely due to the keyboard or it's drivers.

Especially if he is using USB keyb, mouse, headphones, and has several other USB devices plugged in during gameplay, then the devices have to compete for bandwidth on the USB hub.. this is a problem often found in lower end and older mobos.

I would suspect the keys/drivers above all else- try simply pluggin the KB into a different USB port, or if possible- check how many devices are on each hub, and which ports connect to which hub, and give the KB and Mouse their own dedicated USB hub.. Dell PC's for instance, use the top two USB ports on the back panel as a dedicated KB and Mouse port.

I have that problem, i have not found a way to solve it but i have found a way to live with it, walk backwards and turn, when it stops lagging you should find yourself near where you were, can be a bit useful because it gives you the chance to think about what you are going to do whilst it lags

Oh my friend had this too on his new system, (I talked him into getting BF).

Basically, it's the keyboard/keyboard drivers.

Firstly tell him to check he has the most recent drivers, failing that I'm sorrt BF doesn't like some keyboards, it didn't like my friends.
Although I kind of found a solution, as I've heard of lots of problems with USB keyboards, keyboards don't like being USB, so I used my USB to PS/2 convertors, put it on his keyboard and it worked!
Then being the bastard I am, I took it back as my keyboard needs it.

USB bad.
PS/2 good.

Has he maybe set the priority of BF2 to High? In the Windows Task Center? That might be problem, else I don't know..

I hope it's not a bug, I like that, I wish it was like that in every game.

I've never had a keyboard or USB problem and I've been playing bf for a long time (like the rest of you).

I know what the threadstarter means.. you run in a direction or make a movement of anysort... then no matter what you press you continue to move in that direction. This gets me killed an awful lot.

Adding to that the fact that the first five minutes of any of my games is beset by lag and I can get very upset (except clanmates on TS give me shit because I'm usually still the top in kills for the round... but who gives a shit, I could have done even better!).

The movement thing is almost like rubber-banding but you don't snap back, but I have this gut-feeling that it is in no way contributable to my keyboard/drivers/USB cabling.

I'd love it if someone could give me a workable solution!
