Hi
I need to make mp3s from an audio cd

Only problem is: The dvd rom on my laptop crashed, and now i have to use an old computer with windows 98!!! (my moms) and it has no ripping tools

So what i`m looking for is a very simple free program to rip this damn cd, preferably less than 5 mb...

Any recommendations?

CD burner XP Pro ... I think its called that its free ive used it to rip CD's and ISO files as well as other things (ISO files being created by me using alcohol 120 not being downloaded illegaly) I highly reccomend it.

note you dont need XP Pro to run it.... Look for version 3.0 I dont know if there is a later one out.

Free, no registration required. It works even with Win95

You load the files in the play list and than instead of play button you click on the "convert" button. But first you go to options and choose a format and preferences for compressing.

Oddly enough, Windows Media Player usually rips for me without difficulty. Then again, I don't do much ripping.

I simply use Windows Media Player 10 to rip there. Very easy to use. I rip my stuff at 320kb/s 44.1Khz 16bit joint stereo, and all my files work super duper fine.

.:: i currently have 15Gb of heavy fuckin metal ripped from my CD collection in my PC, all using WMP 10 ::.

Windows Media Player 9 works too I think, and it comes with windows, so no need to go get something, it is just there in the PC.
