Very Anormal Problem.

Hi, im having a strange form of lag, that just started today, each 4h after playing bf2, its suddenly starts to lag the shit out of the pc, forcing me to restart the pc (i did it 4 times yet). what is happening? anyone can help me?

Specs: 7800 GSOC Overclocked + 1.5 Gb of RAM+160 Gb HD

PS, yes my comp starts to make strange noises also

Is this a Overheat, a Card Defection or a virus, or simply just harcore lag?

PPS, all setting are on high, +AA and the most common resolution.

Well that's your problem, best bet is to take the side of the case out and locate the source of the noise. It maybe a bad fan that is causing your system to overheat.

Could be a rat living in your PC, anyhow, find the noise and report back what piece of hardware it's coming from.

I have an AMD 3400+ 64bit processor with 2Gb of memory and a X800XL 256mb video card and I can't run everything 100%

I dunno, maybe (if you say some noise is coming out) that your rig is starting to feel tired ? An extra gig of memory wouldn't hurt. The more the merrier.

Tried shuting off eberything before you play ? (i.e. msn, anti-virus, web browser(s), the works)

Perhaps the cooling fan on your video card crapped out.The way you described your problem it sounds like the same thing that happend to me a while back when my vid card fan went out.Just a thought.

I get the same

Athlon64 3500+
256mb 6800GT
Abit An8 32x SLi
2 gigs of DDR400 (4 x 512mb)
80gb + 160gb hdd
600w enermax noistaker
thermaltake viking case (2 x 120mm fans)

Its either EA taking backhanders and patching us out of the game or its EA just being crap, probably the latter.
I used to run everything on high no problem. Gets worse with every patch.
Try driving around each map at the start of the round to take some textures in, or another thing I usually do is press escape so you go back to menu, then pres escape again to return to game, sounds daft I know but it works for me.

You just answered your own question I guess..you said ''my Graphicscard is FOOKIN hot''..so that means that the cooler that is on it will not cool is sufficiently, so the card gets to hot and that will result in you having lag..just revert the speeds back to stock..and go play again..not really much use in overclocking a 7800 GS..

I've never played BF2 for 4 hours straight so I dunno.

NFS:Carbon has been crashing on me lately, only after about 30 minutes of playing. It crashed twice in under ten minutes. Lost all the cash and unlocks that I earned after I saved. It sucks.

I have the same problem with NFS Carbon, but I allready finished it anyway..on the heating..my PC gets around 55 degrees celcius when playing 4+ hours of BF2142..dunno about BF2 haven't been playing for 4+ hours with this rig yet..But he just has a cooling prob..the NFS Carbon is just EA doing their magics again..

The same way you overclocked it but then you will underclock it..or just buy a new cooler..

well you overclocked it...so you can underclock it to.

i guess you overclocked in the nvidea drivers (see img, WTf @ the language ), just drag the bars to left.
