I bought FFX for my ps2 six days ago, and during the time playing it, I've found it to be fucking gay and horrible. One 5-10 minute cutscene after the other. Whatever happened to the good old days where you just ran around exploring, killing shit, and talking to people without being interrupted every 2 minutes with another 10 minute movie? Eek...

Anyways, I'm returning it to Gamestop today and I want to get a PC game instead. I have no internet access at home at the moment, nor will I have it any time soon, so MP games are out of the question.

Suggest something good and fun. The following are the games I've played through lately:

HL2
Fear
FarCry
Oblivion
Deus Ex 2
Tons of Civ2 and Simcity 4

I'm basically into FPS and RPG. What are some good shit that's came out that doesn't require me to patch the fucker before I can even play it. I was thinking about Gothic 3, but I heard of massive problems. Anyways, tell me!!

Well, I could always suggest the battlefield series, but I'll assume that is out of the question (or you already have it).

Well, a fun FPS/RPG with excellent sword-play would be Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

And you can't go wrong with classic FPS's like the Thief series, and the original Dues Ex (Much much MUCH better than 2)

Yeah, I doubt they sell Deus Ex at Gamestop now. I'm pretty sure they only have brand new games there. I guess I could rummage through their selection. I guess it ultimately depends on what's on the rack.

Hmm, how about Tron 2.0 then?  Or some good ol' UT2004 action

Tron 2.0 is great but has little replay value, and can be quite frustrating at times.

As for UT2004, I say go for that.

Keep on playing it in preperation for UT2007. That's what I'm doing. I need to get back in the game. Good morning Godlike Brock/Malcolm bots.

Unless you have already played it and think it is too old I think Call of Duty 2 is supposed to have a good singleplayer.

CoD 2 singleplayer was awesome, that's the only thing I did with that game.  Multiplayer is meh.  But the singleplayer took me 12 hours to progress, it was simply amazing.

well sometimes it can but you have to get a server that isnt laggy becasue most servers will make your game run like a slideshow at 1 frame per MINUTE. ive only encounterd one server that sint like this and it is the trinity servers. oh and the game isnt optimized for dual cores so dont count on your comp to run well if it is dual core. the forums had a guide to optimize dual cores though. i have a link to that if you want it.

I'll see if they have Call of Duty 2. I played one a pc setup at a Fry's I went to, so, it might be fun. Gamestop usually has a decent amount of stuff there.

Call of Duty 2 is fun but i get tired of it quickly especially with all the guys that are really good with the Kar98 (its overpowered 1 shot 1 kill), i like slower games like Red Orchestra

Try Painkiller! It's so amazingly fun! The music is even sick, the whole time they have some nice metal tracks going, all instrumentals that go along with the gameplay perfectly. I think the game even has better physics than HL2.

I got Call of Duty 2. I'm playing through the Russians right now, probably will go all the way until I finish all theirs. It's a good game, even hard on my computer at times, which is odd. I can run Fear maxed with no problem, but this game, I had to turn shit down. Anyways, it's fun. It's a bitch trying to adjust to the games style after playing other FPS', but I'm going good.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about COD2.  And Painkiller?  It's so mind-numbingly like Doom (no point to it, monster killing), but it's still fun!  Maybe it's because they make it FUN to kill one of them monsters, so... fulfilling?  Can't find the right words.

Yeah, I'd say go Painkiller if you want to try an FPS.  Maybe some Darkstar One or some Freelancer.

If you liked the Oblivion playstyle I'd suggest getting its predecesor, Morrowind.

I liked Morrowind a lot better, even if it is not as pretty.  There was more real content.
Plus, Morrowind doesn't do the retarded level scaling of encounters, I like there to be challenging things to come back to later in the game, not just be able to kill anything the first time.
