John Paul's post on TotalBF2 that The_Killer mentions above ^ :
I've uploaded the server.zip file (2.61MB) for you, ledanek (and anyone else who wants to try it out):
http://rapidshare.de/files/15788670/server.zip.htmlHere's what you'll need to do:
1. Using the link above, download the modified server.zip file. (Click the 'Free' button where prompted.)
2. Navigate to the relevant 'Level' folder in your BF2 installation. In this case, Strike At Karkand. By default, the location will have the following path:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Strike_at_Karkand
3. For safety's sake, create a backup of that level's original server.zip file. Store the backup somewhere useful.
4. Paste the modified version of the server.zip file (the one you just downloaded) into the Strike At Karkand folder and, when prompted, overwrite the one that's already there.
You should then be able to play the single-player version of Strike At Karkand with the Mi-28.
The only other changes implemented in that version of the server.zip file are as follows:
a) US FAV/buggy replaces the Humvee (at the Gas Station).
b) The map's "Combat Area" no longer has any boundaries.
I'm still in the process of learning about these sorts of modifications but once I get a better idea of what can be done, I'll write up a very detailed tutorial for everyone. So far, I only have a few hours' experience, so I'm really a complete amateur compared to this game's talented and experienced modders.
On the plus side, toying around with the GamePlayObjects.con file is fairly straight-forward and allows for all kinds of amazing changes.
Anyway, have fun flying around the map and let me know how you go!
